Spoiler GM Dove tail
Coming to all you knowledge knowing people with a question. I have a 45th SS. Looking at GM's Accessories that can be bought and installed at the factory or at the dealer ship, The Blade spoiler that they sell as an Accessoriy, Could I have ordered my camaro to have that installed at the factory or installed at the dealer ship AND still keeping the car to be considerd all orignal? I want to keep my car orignal and not go out side of what was allowed at the factoey or dealership that could be orderd and installed on the car. Ordering and installing a GM blade spoiler on a 45th would they let you do that? I will call the dealer and see. But with the weekend I dont have time now but just wondering... Over?

Well if you had ordered it with the car it would be on the invoice and would be original to the car even though it is dealer installed. This would be the same as the first gen Z/28's that you could order headers and a cross ram intake. They were not factory installed but it is a factory origonal option.
Buying it after the fact is a good question, but since it was a factory item I think most would still consider it factory origonal... Best answer I can come up with.

Having bought and sold a couple of "classic cars" over the years, I can tell you that original equipment was best determined by the Build Sheet for the car. It gave all the "non stock" specifics that were factory and/or dealer installed per the customer's order. Anything in addition to that Build Sheet usually reduced the value (or at least did not increase it).
