2013-2014 base radio questions
Still lovin the new 2013 1LS manual I bought. Still reading a lot. Wondering a few things
The base radio - is it a simple headunit with a few watts - feeding the power to the speakers as 4 pairs of hots/grounds ??? Obviosly the BA setup has the amp and the BA speakers. I've not pulled apart the trunk drivers side panels yet to investigate , but I wonder if the harness is already there? I am *mostly* happy with the stock radio. i do miss a USB plug to play mp3's from a usb drive. I have asked about PDIM in a 2013/2014 before and whether a change i the harness wires into the PDIM positively matters. We guess that two wires missing renders it an impossible upgrade. I keep wondering if you got a wire harness for a 2012 Camaro headunit to PDIM and put it in the 2013 or 2014 if that and a headnuit sw flash is alll it takes to get us going with PDIM. By the way, i am guessing you guys discovered way back what I found - If you hold down the CONFIG button for about 8 or 10 seconds when the radio is on - the radio goes into "test mode" and you can scroll through several pages of SW version info. Anyone know what all that sw version info translates to in terms of lates greatest. if ya'all want me to I'll take grainy cell phone pics of all the info there?? Mike |

Can anyone describe the block by block setup of the base factory headunit.
I like the featues and want to keep it. I am wondering Is there a small amp in the same location as the BA amp on base headunites or do base headunits have only speaker outs. |
