If your boss tells you to have something 'done by the 25th" would you take his meaning as being done by midnight of the 24th, or by the end of the day on the 25th?

usually it would mean COB on the 25th. unless it's for a presentation on the 25, or meeting on that day. but the boss should relay that message. if he's a good boss. otherwise, I would take that as COB on the 25th.

No meeting, he just said have this done by the 25th. I was thinking the same way you are that he wants it done by the end of the day on the 25th.
