Why do they always drag this stuff out for months and months? They tease a few images, then present a couple of show vehicles, then give some of the specs, then give pricing, then open up ordering. I would love to see someone show off a new vehicle at an autoshow, give all its details 5 seconds after they drive it on stage, and say 'ordering begins next Monday'

Some info on the ATS MCE coming in a few years:

2.5L - Dropped.
2.0T manual gains start/stop technology.
2.0T automatic gains eAssist mild hybrid technology + 8 speed transmission.
3.6L LFX - Dropped for 3.6L LGX + 8 speed transmission.

Also: ATS-V will have no problem killing the M3/M4.

I was gonna ask if there was any LGX info but when I googled it the only other thing that popped up was when you mentioned it in the V6 lounge. Also saw the blurb on GMinsidenews, should be interesting.

Can't wait for this. If the trucks look like the renderings in the link you posted above I think that will help them sell. Now lets hope GM actually put some some real value and thought into these trucks.

First off...do you have any information at all on this LGX V6? I'm guessing this is the name of the new family of 60 degree V6 engines, but thats about all I could accurately guess.

2nd...I may be a bit late to the discussion, but I see no reason at all why they can't give the ATS-V a slightly more aggressive tune and boost power output to say 440 or 450HP and 450 or more TQ. I don't believe for one second that those figures would be pushing that engine to its limits. Tuners and just now getting their hands on the TT V6 and guarantee they will get numbers well past that.

There is zero info on the LGX out there. At least none I can find.

I'm going to try and search LinkedIn tomorrow for stuff but that's been hit or miss lately.

Any info on why they're dropping the 2.5L? Not that I mind, but I thought it was there to have a fuel efficient model. Or will the start/stop, eAssist and 8 speeds with the 2.0L cover that?

I have wondering about something, I have been driving a 2013 Equinox with the 2.4L DI motor. This vehicle has an Eco mode on the tranny that forces quicker shifts to upper gears at lower speeds. This seems like a good idea that should be incorporated in all automatic equipped cars. It sure does help. I have been getting over 22mpg in the city with the equinox, my Saturn Vue with the 3.6v6 I get about 14 in the city and 21 on the highway. I think it could have benefited with an Eco mode, I know it still wouldn't get the 22 the 4 banger gets but if it even increased a couple mpg it would be worth it.

I think that rendering makes it look more like a 2013 Silverado. I agree that the rendering isn't too impressive. The early Stingray renderings ended up being so close to the actual car and I hated them at the time. It only takes small changes to really transform how they look. I love how the Stingray turned out.

Start/stop and eAssist will cover that.

The 2.5L model was supposed to be an export-only engine anyways.
