can in for service.. PROBLEM dealer!!

So i take my car in for a problem..

there is a high pitch whine at 58 mph and about 2700rpm in 4th gear.

why wont a dealer take something apart anymore? since they "cant" find the problem (aka their scann tool wont tell it to them).

why wont they just change parts??

and they tell me no problem found... what do i do pick the car up and drop it off again when its still doing it?

contact chevy? will they do anything? i had to do this once with ford and the dealer was kissing my a$$ after..

I'm guessing they did take it for a test drive? If so and they heard the noise, they should address it if it's not normal. They're the ones who'd know. In the absence of them attempting to remedy the problem without a reasonable rationale as to the reason this noise occurs, I'd suggest you go to a different dealer if you have one close by.

If they found no problem then what parts do you want them to change?

Hi baum,

I am sorry to hear about this. If you would like to private message us with your full contact information, VIN, mileage, and name of involved dealership, we can further look into the issue and contact the dealership. We can also schedule an appointment at a different dealership for a second opinion if you would like.

Sounds like the differential. I had a similar problem with a Ford Explorer I owned a while back. The whine would start at about 60 MPH and came from the rear of the car. It stopped if I let off the gas and got worse when I gave her gas.

So they test drove it and heard the whine then said, "no problem found". So every car must make this noise, right? May want to go to a different dealer. I'm lucky that the dealer I deal with has a great service dept. Anytime one of my vehicles is making a noise that is shouldn't. I get the service advisor or a tech in the car while I drive, and make sure they hear what I am hearing, and make sure they agree that it is not normal and something is wrong. Then from there the problem is known and agreed on and will get fixed.

Did you have them test drive it? Did you go with them to point out the specific noise?

Gee, I don't know. If the water in your house is acting up, why don't you just start at your water meter and start replacing your whole water system?

Hope you get your "can" fixed.

Jessica is involved. thats the reason i posted on here i knew one of the chevy customer service reps would see it and get the ball rolling.

Yes they test drove it with me. i drove got to the speed and pointed it out. they heard it and acknowledged it.

This happens when your on the gas. you let go it goes away. you hit the gas again and it comes right back.

the reason i use this dealer is convince its the closest to my house. They are a chevy/dodge/kia dealer. they did the same thing when i had a cel light on my old '11 durango. took that in once and they couldnt do anything a week later the light came back on and it took them 4 days and dropped the tranny but eventually it was fixed.
