DAMN!! I would have gladly forked over the cash for the Transformer package. I grew up with the Transformers so for me it would be cool! An IBM with the badging,AWESOME!!

Oh well! I still love my car!!!

Are you saying it will be worth more? I couldn't tell from the way this read.

As far as the Warner Bros. Van being worth more, you hit it on the head with the fact it has a DVD that others may or may not have. Will Kelly Blue Book or Edmunds give you more value or even the auto black book that the dealers use? Not really.

As far as not collecting cars, I'm an addict...I admit it. My current corral includes a '67 swb pickup that is a "cruiser" restoration (something I can drive anywhere), a '50 ex-Air Force base 1/2 ton pickup that still sports about 90% of its original stencils (undergoing a complete restoration), a '69 Impala hardtop sedan with 50K original miles (I'm the third owner, my mother-in-law was #2), and last but not least our '09 Corvette GT1 Convertible (one of ten GM produced in yellow). We've got an '02 Corvette Coupe that will go once the Camaro arrives, and an '08 Pontiac G6 (POS family travel car). Are some of these collectible? Yes, but I could care less about collectibility-I bought them because I love them.

Buying a transformers edition car on the basis of its collectibility is not a good move...Maybe it will be worth more, maybe not. Case in point-Price out a "first 1000" Pontiac Solstice (these cars have SPECIFIC VIN numbers, documentation, and had a definite number of cars produced-something the transformers camaro doesn't have). These cars don't have any more value than a standard Solstice except to a very limited number of people that would buy it.

If you like the look of the car, buy it for that, don't buy it for the "collectibility" that may or not be there. You've got a nice looking car coming, enjoy it!

It looks like GmPartsDirect.com has the parts listed on their site under the 2010 Camaro upgrades. The following is a link directly to the section.

http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results...er=camarotrans

It looks like most of the parts are not yet available for purchase from GM, but they are on thier site!!! A few of the parts do list the prices.

Eric/Scott,

Can you/Have you tried these part order numbers in your system to see if you can order these right now?

Can't say I'm impressed. I'm going to just undertake the project myself. It'll be more expensive but hopefully the end result pays off!

Yes, I know it will be worth more. No doubt about it. I have seven cars currenty (5 of which are show cars) and the(real) little things do matter. The car I had on order was as close as you could get to what is the Transformer's Package. So my dealer subtracted the rally stripes and added the package. So for $500 and something dollars I will upgraded to what will end up being a numbered car.
It really am glad that they didn't make it look like the real Bumble Bee. Those big holes where the fog lights sit are really ugly! The hood is cool, but the rest of the front end looks like something a 13 year old would design in his backyard using cardboard, a couple of milk cartons, and and some fiber glass.
The Transformers Edition will blend in nicely at car shows, yet is very unique and special. Just think of the fun you'll have showing people the cool little touches that Chevy added for you.
My guess is a lot of the sour grapes people are just mad that they didn't get a chance to order this option.
By the way, has anyone seen the 2002 Collector's Edition Trans Am? That bright yellow paint and black wheels has to be the ugliest TA ever built, yet some people like them and they are worth more than the non-collector edition fire chickens. Sorry hatters, but this car is cool and going to be worth more after December when they stop making them and announce how many were made. If you end up looking like a geak, then it's not the car, it's you. Women and children will love it!

Lets just hope they state somewhere on the window sticker it is a Transformers Edition. I preordered my car and got it 3 weeks ago, will end up buying the parts over the counter. I used to have a 30th edition T/A, was cool that they had dash number plaques, those cars really hold their value. Would be nice if Chevy made under 1,000 of these.

The 99 TA was the nicest looking firebird from 1979-2002. I sold my 02, Ram Air, Convertible, TA about a month ago and bought a 911. If I wasn't buying this Camaro, I would be looking for a low mileage 99 Collector TA. Those blue rimms are sweet!

I'm with you on that one. That car was beautiful.

I'd like a 2010 Camaro, pearl white paint, blue interior, blue rally stripes

Sorry, you obviously didn't read my post. I'm not a hater-my statement was that it wouldn't be worth more as it isn't a true limited edition. With it having an order code that will show on the spid label, at least you will be able to verify it's veracity. To buy a car because you think you will get rich because it has an option on it that will make you rich is silly.

Anyone want to buy my one of ten ( documented by the owner of the jake logo) gt1 corvette convertible for $85k? Point proven.

I never said I didn't like your car just stating the reality of collectibility.
