Pretty much. I was denied warranty because Power Steering is only covered under "New Car Warranty" not "Power-train". I have power-train till 2015. The tech told me I should have bought an aftermarket warranty and told me I am SOL. The GM rep I called said because the hoses ruptured the first time which is different from the pump exploding the 2nd time that I would NOT get compensated for having to get my pump fixed/replaced the third time.

Example of our climate Jack a**
I hope you treat people that you meet in person better than you treat people on the forum you tool.

You should sell your shitty car and buy something more appropriate for your winter wonderland. May I suggest a ski-doo. I know a place you can store it, Jack ass.

Same to yourself sarcastic a**. Did you know vehicles must be able to handle the climate/environment they are sold in? I am not a weekend warrior I didn't buy this car to rev at girls and race at the tracks. (not knocking on people who do) I bought this because I wanted something fuel efficient and not gutless with style factor. If you cant handle YOUR car in all seasons you probably poor driver. RWD is a breeze in the winter and there are lots of V6 and V8 who drive their car all year round in this "winter wonderland". It's just the Power Steering is a POS on these cars.. GM realized that and switched to Electric Power Steering on the newer models. Now GTFO troll. If you think the V6 Camaro is a shitty car get out of the V6 forum.

* I dont think the v6 is a POS. I think yours is. And who said I can't drive in the snow in a RWD?
I am out, internet tough guy. I tried to offer some insight that something else may be contributing to your problem but you obviously feel that I was attacking you for no reason at all. You are obviously am immature person.

Internet tough guy? You haven't provided any intelligent insight other than telling me to buy a car more suitable for the "winter wonderland". The problem isn't driver inability to drive in colder and snowier climates. (Most of our Police and Ambulance vehicles are RWD in Canada btw). It's the Power Steering not being able to withstand cold temperatures. And bashing someone's ride is hardly mature.

I got my car fixed at our shop which specializes in high performance vehicles and high end luxury vehicles and at least I can say they were competent enough to fix it and not try to put me together unlike the "authorized" GM dealerships.

Your probably better off finding an upgraded after market pump if the OEM keeps breaking.
Also make sure they are installing Dextron VI synthetic Trans fluid.
This may be part of the problem.
Gets down to zero here in the winter and mine came from the factory almost out of fluid.
Topped it off and never had a problem.

I have had two hoses blow off mine. One each winter in temps around 0-10 above. Each time they leaked slow enough to allow me to drive to the dealer after I topped off power steering fluid. And no I wasn't jacking around cutting donuts in the snow.

I think there is a service bulletin about a lighter weight fluid for "cold weather" My service rep told me about this after the repairs were performed. I have a winter beater this year to drive otherwise I would be swapping out the fluid for this years winter.

I'd like to know what fluid that is.

So you have had a pump fail even with the "cold climate" fluid? If so that sucks and sorry but I have no other ideas.

I am thinking of making the switch to full synthetic. I hope that can handle the extremes in temperatures in snow land. Can anyone recommend a good synthetic power steering fluid?

The cold climate fluid is supposed to fix the issue, I have some in my car. i also insulate the PS lines in winter months so theyre not exposed to extreme negative air temps going down the hwy when really cold here in Mn.
