If you want, use a stainless steel tie strap that they use for securing header wrap. Its very low profile and will stay tight and wont melt.

No, they are ARH LT. I guess the difference is the manufacture specs. You got stainless power correct?

i guess my SP's just swing out further, hmm. well either way as long as my metal clip is off the headers dont rub anymore. it still hasnt moved and is still tight. i guess my options are to either get a metal zip tie and see if that doesnt rub or dent the header and put this crappy one back on lol

Many people just cut the boot off. Not a big deal.

In most cases it comes down to the quality of the build. There is a reason SP is a cheaper header (Compared to ARH, Kooks, SW, etc.). I'm not saying they are bad, I'm just saying you get what you pay for.

LOL see my friend thats where you are terribly wrong. the SW and SP camaro headers are built off of the SAME jig. meaning they have the same bends and same size pipes etc. the ONLY difference is where they are welded. the SPs are welded together over seas the SWs are welded together in the USA. but they are IDENTICAL other than what the ethnicity of the human being that welds them together is. all the steel for the SPs are the same, they are cut and mandrel bent HERE in the USA and then shipped out to be welded together in a different country. so if i had SWs i would have probably had the same issue, but if i had ARH maybe i wouldnt have. but as we all know kooks, SW, and ARH are the top 3 so they are all just as good as the other. i did weeks of research before buying my headers, i called up kooks, sw and ARH and once i spoke to SW and they told me about the SP line and i was told all the specifics i was sold. i found no reason to pay 500 more for the fact it was welded together here versus else where. i read thread after thread praising the SP headers and how not a single person who has bought them has had any major issues. im happy and now that my little issue is fixed im even happier.

I disagree. The product is completed/assembled (probably the most important part) in China and their machine / assembly line could have different tolerances, even the slightest difference can create a problem. I know as I've seen it 1st hand as I work for a manufacturing company. We build things here the US and have some outsourced in China and many times we have issues between 2 identical parts.

Now can I 100% say this is the case, of course not, but at the same time there is a chance.

I had the same problem, put the factory metal clamp back on, use a pair of pliers and smash the high part of the clamp down, problem solved... 2,000 miles later and still no issues.

All this crap about fitment is just that, crap. My buddy has the same headers as me (Stainless Power) and he has clearance like the ARH photo above. I think it has more to do with motor location on the mounts and the geometry of the steering shaft. GM has tolerances like everyone else, that motor moves over an 1/8" the steering shaft the other way an 1/8" and now the clamp doesn't fit.

Enjoy your car, and your headers. Don't let these guys get you down for getting something that fits in your budget.

I am not trying to get anyone down for what they paid. My point is they are on the cheaper end for a reason, whatever that reason may be.

I installed 3 sets of Kooks LT headers and never had a problem with the fit. I didn't even take out the spark plugs.
