I guess there are a lot of people writing this truck off based on a picture alone.

I like this and will seriously consider buying one.

I will withhold actual judgement until I drive one though.

Biggest thing for me will be the HP and the price....

I love the way the truck looks and I as well am waiting till the diesel and a drive of it before I make the decision as well. Before this was shown I was torn between a used C7 or Gen 6 Camaro but ive always kinda been a truck guy, maybe its cause im short and I can sit up high in trucks I dunno lol.

Yup... All I can think of in my head is a mini Tundra... And that's bad, because I don't like the Tundras appearance either. Or the 05+ Tacoma for that matter.

I'm sure a lot of people would buy it, don't get me wrong. It's a nice change from the old body style. Just not the one I was hoping for.

I agree with this statement. That alone could make me get past the looks. Also after seeing front pics of the extend cab model, I will retract part of what I said earlier. It doesn't look that bad. Although It's kinda of dated because it sorta looks like the outgoing Tahoe model. Not that that is a bad thing. They were very good looking vehicles, but I thought that GM was looking to retain their new identity across the models.

I just feel that the proportion on the crew cab model looks very odd. Maybe seeing in the flesh will change me mind as it does many times.

I agree. I'm thinking of that in just yellow without all the writing and ladder racks. It would look good. Like I said above though, to me the extended cab looks much better.

I imagine that would eat into their Equinox/Traverse market which is probably not what they want to do, even if it was marketed as a true SUV instead of a CUV...

Looking at the specs alone we have so far, the Colorado should easily prevail over the old-hat Tacoma that is in serious need of updates, especially in the powertrain Department (like all Toyotas actually). Power, Torque, payload, towing, features, content and I would venture FE and price too. I feel this is going to pretty well dominate the Toyota and Nissan offerings in the same way the Big 3 fullsizers do their fullsizers now. Offering a diesel will give it the same uniqueness in the marketplace as the ecodiesel ram, and I have no doubt that Toyota is going to lose a lot of market share.

TrailBlazer overseas but there's no telling if we'll get it.

I see the overseas diesel is available with a manual transmission?? If we got a manual trans with the diesel, I'd be all over it, the looks would grow on me

So I may have misinterpreted what you said in the GM thread but, test blocks were being cast for the diesel? Is this going to be a different or completely refreshed version of the international 2.8 duramax? Are we expecting even more power and torque :O this gets more and more exciting...plus the Canyon reveal in January!
