if i add strictly GM performance parts will warranty stay intact?

Looking to add cold air intake exaust and shorty headers to my car.will powertrain warranty stay intact. And any hp gains from those 3 without tune cause I hear tune would void warranty

Yes, but only if you have the dealer installs the accessories. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

They can't void your warranty because of it, they can however deny your claim on that system and refuse to fix anything tied to that part.

It is safer to have your dealer install the parts but not necessary. If you do it yourself or have someone else do the job, your dealer can deny any claim tied to that part because of "incorrect installation by the 3rd party" and tell you to take it up with them.

it is called the moss-magnuson act. my spelling might be off. the dealer can deny the claim if the part you add contributes to a failure. so if you put on a supercharger on, they can't deny fixing your power window motor. but if you blow up your driveline, then they can deny it.

Okyankee,
Bless you for understanding MM!! So many people think that their supercharger won't void their entire powertrain warranty as they've heard that MM will protect them.

Not only that, but people still believe that the dealer has to prove that their non-OEM part caused a particular failure. That's just not true...the reality is that YOU have to prove that it did not.

So if let's say a gm performane part being was a gm superecharger installed by dealler the powertrain warrant would still be good even if blower blew up motor

Certain parts that are developed and sold by GM Performance Parts are validated for a particular application.

If you install our Air box, shorty headers or cat back mufflers you will not void your powertrain warranty.

We sell many other parts for the non emission market that are not validated for installation on your Camaro. Should the installation of those parts cause a parts failure it is not covered by GM Performance Parts or General Motors.

You need to read the warranty statement relating to the parts you wish to install from GM Performance Parts. That statement can be found in the GM Performance Parts catalogue or at www.gmperformanceparts.com

I have been told that the parts that I listed above qualify. Now the heads and cam from GM Performance Parts that I have installed do not.

Hope this helps

Robin

Just to be safe, use only GM performance parts and have a good GM dealership's shop put them in.

as long as that GM performance part was designed and approved for your car and engine combo.

No it would not be good. Your warranty would not be valid if the blower was found to be at fault.

Same goes for all the power adders that are being installed on many of the new cars. Unless the component supplier offers a warranty of their own (some do)

unless otherwise specified, yes, that's right.

It's like the blower for the Mustangs, the one that's ~400hp is covered under warranty, but the 500 version is not.
