Perhaps it wasn't an SRT-8 Jeep, but I did have a jeep before the Z. lol

Did you ever consider the CTS-V (coupe or sedan)?
I did look at the V coupe. I opted not to get it because I see them quite a bit where I live. I like the fact that my ZL1 is the only one around here.

my .02 is drive them.

With mods I like my Zl1 better than a non-carbon/Z07 Z06. stock it was down on power for sure but I liked the handling a bit better.

now people without seat time in both usually chime in now and think I am crazy but for me the ZL1 is a bit tamer to drive closer to the limit. also the suspenstion can be make more drivable under normal conditions.

Now the newer Z07's and Zr1 have a some fo the ride comfort but still have more snap oversteer stock. they will be much north of 47k though.

Looks wise I love both cars. As long as you comfortable with some mods into the Zl1 I think it is the better pick. if not the Z06 stock as delivered with waranty is just really fast stock but at 47K you will be looking at cars ~5 years old and out of waranty.

you really can't go wrong either way that's why it is nice to get some seat time in both.

as for kids that is why I sold my Z04 yr old and 6th month old. I can use my Zl1. My Z06 would be an awesome christmas orniment in my shop if I did not have a back seat. I did alright at one kid witht the Z06 but at number 2 it just would not have worked. so if you are planning kids the ZL1 is a no brainer if you don't want a CTS-V or GT500.

Thanks bud

I did drive the ZL1 and was able to open it up once. I wasn't going to drive it like it was on a track with 2 others in the car though, and beat on a new car someone else will buy. I feel like my z is glued to the road although without active handling, I probably would have lost it a few times.

I'm gonna see if I can check out a cts-v as well soon and go from there. But I just really like a poweful 2 door car.

At this point I'm gonna fix a couple things with the vette (driver side window stopped going down) and put it up for sale. Once I do, I'll find the car I want, and fly there to pick it up probably or check it out and have it shipped back. These things don't pop up that often used...

Yep. I've seen CTS-Vs plenty. I haven't seen any ZL1s, which really make it way note unique in my opinion. But only a trained eye will know the diff between a zl1 and a v6 camaro I think.

It is funny I am still the only Zl1 in my area. Have not seen one on the road yet which is really wierd to me. I do not like the CTS-V coupe at all really like the sedan but looks wise the Zl1 is way cooler. practicatliy wise though the V wins for sure.

in contrast I have seen 4 2013-2014 GT500's which there are less of them in existance. go figure. does not make sense.

I see CTS-v's weekly almost. as much as I like cars like M5, CTS-V, AMG mercedes etc my inner hillbilly always wants something more aggressive looking even though when I am cramming both my girls in the back seat I always think why did I not get the CTS-V sedan? I think you supposed to have two eyebrows though to drive one of those so I would have looked out of place.

LOL... I really don't like the coupe either. the sedan is nice though.

There are actually alot of ZL1 posters from my tri county area here, which is surprising.

I'd say 51% of my decision to buy my ZL1 was exclusivity. I actually did drive a 12 CTSV coupe, an 09 Z06, a 12 and 13 GT500.... But at the end of the day, I see each of them daily. Why be like everyone else
The Z "felt" the fastest. The V was the most comfortable, and the GT500s were just kind of "ok, it's a fast mustang" feel.

It's south Florida. There is a lot of every car there. Especially "summer weather" cars.

Until I traded it in and you bought it, lol. Should post some pics. Curious to see if you kept it the way I made it or changed it.
