Well you only need $45k.

And quite a few people have come close to that with an Impala LTZ V6.

That's the price of a 2SS/RS Camaro Convertible, with out all the trimmings.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the current SS sedan is only a place-holder for a full-line (V6 and V8, or I4, V6 and V8) RWD Chevy model built on Alpha+ (same platform as the new CTS) once the SS and VF reach the end of their cycle.

I would love that, but I don't see it happening. It would step on Impala's toes too much and GM isn't going to jeopardize that car.

Think it did pretty well performance wise against the SRT8 in the 1/4. Wish Ford would do a good V8 RWD sedan like this. And clean simple "bland" styling isnt too. Maybe they will come out with a performance package like the G8 GXP? Looks like they have some room to play with since it is $10,000 cheaper than the Dodge

Buy the car that you would most like to get beat in. The other guy will always be faster.

I think so too. My baseline dyno was 369hp/372 lb-ft.

If the SS was marketed better, and sold well i could see Ford MAYBE test the waters with a RWD v8 sedan, because the Chargers do pretty good, and if the chevy did good it would show there was potential. I think if it came to that though Ford would just add more power to the SHO unfortunatly

Nice review......That's about what I thought would be said about both cars. I do think the fit, finish and quality is pretty damn good on the SRT8 though. Of course the SS is gonna handle better. Hell its 400 pounds less. The Charger is a big muscle car period. The SuperBee handles better than the full blown SRT8 though. Not by leaps and bounds but it does.......For a big ass heavy car, it handles pretty damn good for an OLD chassis that's been around for ages. I think the SuperBee would handle just as good if not better then the SS. I would still pick the SRT8 over the SS right now. The 2015 might be different. From the looks of the new Charger im not sure. Might have to grow on me.

2015 brings more changes to the Charger also. Exterior and interior changes along with powertrain changes. Some chassis changes as well.

By the way, I paid 38k OTD for my SuperBee...................

Look at what the G8 GXP runs in the 1/4. Those have the LS3's in em. The SRT8 would still beat it in the 1/4 mile.

Sure, if you can live with the rental car interior of the SuperBee - no navigation, no HID headlamps, no sunroof, no 8" screen, no Uconnect, no heated seats, no leather and bee graphics on the dash, and seats, it's a real bargain. While it may be SRT8 performance, it's certainly not SS amenities/features.

Ummmmm, I have NAV, Uconnect and the 8.4 screen in my Bee. It was an option starting in 2013. As for the other stuff. Im one of those people that don't want all the extra crap in a car. I personally don't like leather either. I don't want or need heated or cooled anything or a sunroof. All bloat BS to me.

Im actually glad they came up with the "core" Challengers and "superbee" Chargers. They don't have all that extra crap I don't want. Before they came out, it was hard for me to find something on the lot that wasn't an overpriced barge full of stuff I don't want. They are definitely not for everyone and that's why they don't fly off of the lots. LOL
