That looks like a lot of metal flakes..

It's from the threads when screwing the bottom of the can back on, I started cross threading it and caught myself.

Edit: It's also from my multiple times of unscrewing the bottom half to check what has been caught.

Installed at 71 miles, now have 313. Seemed pretty easy, but (for me) nothing ever is.
I assembled the can first and attached it to the bracket. Then I took off the stock PCV line, not too bad after moving the bracket above the line (as suggested in the instructions). Next I placed the clamps on the hoses loosely (used the braided hoses) and installed the bottom first, then the top. It was difficult but doing it this way I was able to spin the hoses while pushing them onto the connectors. Got the hoses on as far as I could, then it took a lot of patience to tighten those clamps. When the clamps were tightened up, I attached the can and bracket in the appropriate location using a 10.9 grade bolt, 5mm longer than stock with washer to allow for the bracket being there. Finally I attached both hoses to the fittings on the can and done!
Pics show what I collected after 242 miles.
Installed.
Bolt. I have some additional bolts/washers if anyone is interested. Glad I got this product, thanks Chase!

I installed my braided lines the same way. I used a spray bottle with soapy water on the ends of the hoses to ease installation. I have had zero problems using the stock bolt.

Zero problems on my stock bolt so far as well. I wish I would have thought of the soapy water before putting the lines on. I spent a good 30 minutes pushing and twisting to get them on there.

That is a good idea. A couple drops of silicone lube does wonders as well.

Thank you for your order. We were told this morning that we may have everything back from anodizing as soon as Friday. I hope that is the case but one thing you learn about manufacturing really quickly is that everything takes longer than projected. Either way, catch cans should be back on the shelf and in stock really soon.

I'll admit it, I was too lazy to open the bottle of silicone lube. It's even easier using the silicone lube.

I heated up the end of the hose and used a little Vaseline, slid right on.

What's the deal with the catch cans, has the new shipment come in? I've been waiting almost a month.

Anodizing company is killing us. I am waiting on a status update right now. Last word we had is that the trucks were snowed/iced in.
