Sorry for taking so long to reply. I am pretty sure I bought them from APEX.
I have been having the dead battery problem though. No show mode hooked up. My question to those who wire them to another switched power source, do your emergency flashers still function with no power to the lights? I am currently using a battery tender to keep the battery charged, but would entertain rewiring them if it makes the problem go away but keep the emergency functions.

No I didn't read the ENTIRE thread, but I must ask, is this happening only to those who have show mode wired up ready to go?

Are there any here who have never enabled show mode, but still experiencing the battery drain issue?

I've had mine a few months, and other than condensation(happened on my last car wash on a cold day) on the passenger side pair, no battery drain issues, and I'd let the car sit days.

I have never enabled show mode on mine.

A bit pissed about the condensation though, still debating whether to make a warranty claim or not, or just DIY fix it.
It shouldn't have anything to do with "Show Mode" since the pink wire has to be hooked up to the battery (or a switched source) for the Techno taillights to work at all. Even if you don't hook up the purple wire for Show Mode, the pink still has to be connected. This is the wire that is causing the drain. Since hooking it up to a switched source, as I mentioned earlier in this thread, I have not had any battery drainage issues. This includes a few heartbreaking weeks when the car had to sit and. When I want to use show mode, I flip a switch hidden in the trunk and it works just like it should.

I don't know about SS models or models from any other year, but I can tell you that in a 2012 ZL1 (at least mine) all of the fuses in the trunk panel are hot all of the time. This is according to my multimeter without keys in the ignition and the drivers door open. I really wish there was a switched source in the trunk because I would have wired it that way instead of tapping into the remote amp turn-on through the FARK.

I am glad to hear that my solution has worked for some of you, and I appreciate Normagene pointing some of you in the direction of my other thread here:

If I can help any of you, please shoot me a PM.

I am happy to check this out for you tonight when I get home from work. The workaround would be to just turn the headlight knob to turn on the parking lights, and this will allow the taillights to function normally, with or without a key.

Not exactly true, you can turn the headlight switch on and they will work without a key. Without a key and the headlight knob turned on, they won't work.

If you turn the knob on the dash (shown in the pic) to turn on the parking lights or headlights manually, the taillights will function normally without the key.

Just messing with you. I understood the first sentence, it was the second sentence that I was applying the "huh".

For me, the first time it went dead it sat about 2 weeks. I charged the battery, but didn't drive the car, and it was dead a second time about 7 days later. I think the second time was a fluke and that the battery was still weak from its previous discharge.

Since I installed my switch, it has sat for periods of 14 days without starting and I haven't had a dead battery since.

Yeah! Back in business. Hubby re-installed the one light had the three builds out. Although he did confess to dropping one of the bolts into the abyss. Not much room for big mitts like his especially that lower outer bolt/nut.

Anyway, temp is 43 and The Devil's Nightmare hasn't slithered out in like three weeks, so its time for a spin!!!

If we were to conduct a poll on Technostalgia owners here, I wonder what the total percentage of battery drain issues would be?

Does anyone have a guesstimate?
