Watch what you say on the phone with the OnStar rep, make sure you clearly state you want everything cancelled and NEVER to be renewed. If it does you will do the above with your CC company.

That is what you call illegal and not possible. Unless you have a very stupid credit card company, in which you should go after both OnStar and the Credit Card company.

I'm only stating what was said in a past post. I never signed up for Onstar, I don't see a need. I mean there's always a chance of something happening and me not having a phone near by but i have AAA if i lock myself out of the car and if it were ever stolen, they would help locate it for the police anyway. If they didn't can't i sue because they have the ability to find it be chose not to, in a way aiding the thief

Are you suggesting that a privately held company must offer you services that everyone else has to pay in order to get?

Yeah, good luck w/ that....

If you cancel OnStar and someone steals your car OnStar won't do a thing to help locate your stolen car.

I've used this forum to contact OnStar employees and it worked.

Quit complaining and just use the PM system.

Never heard so many people complain about getting some free service..

OnStar is no different than any other auto payment plan, yes, they are a PITA. I'm not an OnStar fan boy but some of you need to chill out. lol

i am old school when it comes to paying my bills. i dont do auto pay deduction for anything. i still write checks and mail. may be old school and a hassle, but i control my acct. and dont have to worry about debits not stopping on acct. when i try to cancel. i have had good expereicne with onstar and kept it on my 07 Envoy till this summer, when i let it lapse when i knew i was buying a new camaro. i like the remote link for phone.

Didn't have any problems canceling mine or from my family's terrain. I also don't recall ever giving them my credit card info. They never asked for it.

The problem is that they keep you on continuous coverage (which you cannot undo for some damn reason) and will bill you AFTER you "think" your account has lapsed. You can fight to get it back, but it's a major PITA that shouldn't have to happen.

OnStar is ok. But their billing and accounting and website practices sucks eggs. Big time.

so I called onstar today and they promised the issue was takin care of ,but get this they said they couldn't refund on my card they had to send me a check . they said it was because my account was closed , well if it's closed and you can't refund on the card then how where you able to charge the card again. just more B.S. from another co. that puts greed in front of everything else, they just hope people don't look at their statements and can get away with it. do the math if 500k people get charged an extra month what does that add up to, so now they say the check will be here within 30 days , guess will wait and see but LESSON LEARNED

Funny, I thought there was usually an OnStar rep named Jessica that monitored these threads. Would have been nice if they could have taken time out of their busy schedule to acknowledge a clear issue of customer satisfaction and taken steps to make it right.

But since they haven't and they have been giving so many people on here the runaround, I'll never let OnStar see a dime of my money.

Ever try to cancel either? That is usually when the problems start, not if you keep service all the time.
