To give you an example of where I'm coming from: A couple of years back, I decided to put the old style two into one pipes back on my 1958 Harley FL.

Shot over to my favorite shop in Minneapolis, and placed an order.

Picked up the new pipes (insert appropriate drool here) and the new fishtail muffler. Got back and INSTANTLY started wrenching. Two hours later, after patting myself on the back for a job well done, I pounded down some liquid strength, and started kicking!

Popped right off...............and sounded like KRAP! Tweaked the throttle, same same, and wouldn't idle for a damn!

To shorten it up here, I pulled the whole system off, and when inspecting the center tube where the gusset is welded for the read cylinder tube to mate......They had welded the gusset......And Never Routed A Hole!!!!

Now if you want to talk Back Pressure, I'm your guy!

Ok. But what are the chances that they messed up a number of these the same way?

The good news I see is that it "appears" they recognize there's a problem. At least they haven't given the car back and said, "Everything is fine."

The bad news is it appears they're still looking and Scott is still without his car.

No I have the car. I just take it in for the test and they give me a used car to drive for a couple of days and then give me my car back.

On another note we have decided to sell #230 if the issue is not fixed soon. We will give up on having a Camaro and I will go back to driving my Honda. If my daughter does not have a job and the money to make her half of the Honda's payment by September 8th she loses use of the car. So I will just take it back and drive it.

Wow... you and Rpepka selling your A6s.

I'm still sitting at 1100 and beginning to question the A6. The last Z I owned was manual and I just got tired of shifting in town. (Getting too old I guess).

Sorry to hear that its coming to that decision. But, I had a brand new '97 Chevy Z-71 truck that would occassionally not turn left. Yes. I'd always have to chose a parking spot where I could turn right. After 8 months of dealing with GM, I had to sell. So, I understand.

I so want GM to succeed, and maybe they will. But, this is begining to remind me of the same old GM. I know there are good people within GM, it just seems like they're not at a level to make the right decisions for the customer.

You should not "have" to sell your car.

Man, I hope you all get some sort of a real answer to this problem...this really sucks.

I've been reading the forums for a while, and eventually want to get an A6 SS myself. I hope this gets worked out :(

Sorry to hear that, Scott. It's understandable though.

Hopefully GM steps it up, as everybody's biggest fear when buying a new car is getting stuck with a lemon.
