The point I was making that this new car is invoking a lot of emotion good or bad, and that's usually a good thing.
Right now the only car that I would like to trade my Camaro for is a C7 convertible. But unless I win one or the lottery I will be keeping my Camaro for a long time.

So true....I don't how much longer the middle class is going to be around unless something happens/changes DRASTICALLY!

No. The next time I buy a performance car, it's either going to be a Corvette or a CTS-V.

Every new generation of mustang has always been a drastic change from the previous. This car just looks like a midcycle refresh, taking cues from the fusion.
Performance wise, Im sure the alpha based 6th gen camaro will do just fine.

You know what, when the S550 platform was initially announced, Ford made it seem like the second coming. Claiming up to 400 pound of weight reduction, direct injection on the Coyote, and a well sorted IRS. It all sounded amazing, but I think the new generation of Camaros will be even better. Not because Ford only evolved the S197 platform into the 2015 Mustang, but that is a part of it. On the Alpha platform, I believe the next gen Camaro will be lighter then the current Mustang offering, and with the new LT1 in there making a ton of power under the curve, I think it will perform even better then a comparable Mustang. With the trickle down technology from the C7 (e-diff), and all the Mag Ride stuff from the ZL1 that will most likely find it's way to SS models of the 6th gen, I think my next car might be a Camaro if I need 4 seats, or a C7 if I need 2. I want to love the current Mustang, and I think it looks great, but the promise of a lighter, smaller, more nimble platform was not kept. I'm keeping my 2011 until further.

The weight reduction was what really grabbed me. I knew 400 was not possible, but I was ready to believe a 200 pound weight reduction. The more I read the more I think I will be surprised if like the C7 if the new Mustang does not gain weight.

Once we see the new Camaro and the Mustang in the flesh, I also might go C7. Base C7+Z51+Magnaride+NPP looks like the best performance car on the planet for under $100K. And already I see at least 1 dealer discounting.

Definitely wait until the '16 model year. The newness and hype will have worn off, the 500 hp engine should be out per rumors, and the Gen6 Camaro will be there as well. I sure wouldn't pay a markup over sticker for one.

My guess is that in 2015 it will be considered to have caught up to the Camaro in handling/ride quality and will post about the same numbers at the track as the 1LE despite the power to weight advantage. I also think the Gen5 Camaro will hold up in the styling front.

If Chevy comes out with a 20hp bump for the '15 Camaro and more 1LE bits on the SS I would say sales will hold up to. The 20hp should be doable using the Z28 shorty headers with tweaks to the intake and tune.

There is noway the mustang will be 200 lbs lighter. If anythign might actually be heavier. Don't believe everything you read. Also unless they dramatically reduce the size of the camaro, dont expect it to be lighter either. Name a car that is getting lighter as time goes on? I can't even think of one off the top of my head.

The 2015 front is too generic to make the switch from my 13 1LE. Performance is gonna be awesome, close/equal to the Boss. I prefer the 2014 stang than the 2015. The only cars I might consider instead of my 1LE are the 13 Boss and Gt500, but they cost way more. Give me a Z06 instead!!

The 2016 Camaro with the 450hp LT1 will beat the 5.0 15' Stang In every way.
