Supercharge it or not

I have a manual 12 Camaro SS with boltons and a cam. My best time so far has been a 12.1 at 118.5 with street tires cutting a 1.94 60'. Lately I have been considering supercharging the car. I really would love to run low 11's or may be even high 10's with tires and trap high 120's. The one thing I am concerned about is reliability. I have already invested about 7000. and the blower would run me about another 8000. As much as I would love to make the power as much as I would hate to blow the motor or start breaking shit often enough to a point where I regret ever doing it. What do you guys think?

Do it and don't look back. Spend a little extra on some good internals together with a good tune then you can worry about breaking other stuff. Depending on how you drive it also.

Like the others have said do it. I'm warning you though, once you add it, you current setup will seem slooow and you'll never want to go back.

BTW, great times with your current setup!!!

12.1 that is fast with a 1.94 60' on street tires. always nice to have more power but trust me you will never have enough. and you will start breaking stuff at the track if you don't do the supporting mods with the supercharger.
with drag's you already have 11.5's or so in it.

I'm TT'ing mine eventually.
Engine wise, not worried about reliability AT ALL.

Rear end components should be upgraded however. $500 in upgrades tops, and you are good to go.

Of course, I'm talking low boost, 580 wheel hp here.

According to East coast Supercharging I will making anywhere between 600 to 625 RWH. I don't mind upgrading other components. I am more concerned about the motor.

It depends on your application really.

In my case, I'm more into road racing and twisties, as opposed to straight line racing line 1/4 miles, etc. Having said that, low center of gravity, low IAT's, and good power would be in my favour. TT kit I'm looking at, installs the turbos down low right in line with the frame really, as opposed to SC, which mounts 100lb's up top and very much at the front, which is not good at all (my application).

Go with a centrifugal like a Vortech V3 a lot easyer on the car and will give ya the hard pull on the bigend of the track. I trap 125's with headers and a V3 with out pushing the car to hard. But now I thinking of putting a cam in it lol.
ECS has very nice stuff also. But do all the supporting mods 1st.

Since your a M6 your going to need to upgrade your suspension, tires and drivetrain first. On sticky tires you can break drivetrain parts with your current power level. More power will just make it worse. I vote to maximize your current combo before adding more power. Clutch upgrade, 9 inch, 12bolt or ZL1 rear end, trailing arms, cradle bushings, diff bushings and 18" or smaller drag radials or slicks. Once you have those parts and are able to go at least mid 11's with a good 60', then you can try to add more power.

I would do it, just put a little extra money to the side just in case something breaks though because it's bound to happen. 12.1 is a good time btw, try investing in some drag radials as others have mentioned.

I'm surprised that you haven't broken or smoked the following already but you might as well add another $1,500 for axles and $2,000 for a quality clutch, which may last. From there you will have to be concerned about the differential, and transmission. Low boost the LS3 should be fine. If 1/4 mile is your thing you may want to consider swapping to an automatic now and saving on the above parts and future frustrations. Your car will be faster and much more reliable. In my cammed only SS I got tired of breaking things and finally sold the car. I should have bought an automatic from the start.
