I wouldn't advocate neutral drops and no, v8s are not requires for burnouts. Are you holding the TC button for 6 seconds when you turn it off so that the stabilitrak turns off too? Maybe the new tires are for some reason triggering that whereas the old were not? I dunno, just shooting in the dark though it's a possibility. On my old '99 v6, burnouts weren't an issue because 1)no TC or SC and 2) 4.10s in the rear

Those are the tires I am currently using.

NP for me to light them up.

Hold down the button and get both of the systems to off mod.

Hold the brake and give it some gas. Get them spinning and then slowly release the brake. You should light them up with that style.

For me with both systems off, if I just nail it they go up.

good Luck.

Turning off the nannies and stomping the gas must be what it's like to ride a bull....

Why do you need to turn off Stabiltrac to do a burnout? I always just turn off Traction Control. The ST will keep you straight so you won't loose it. Unless you want to fishtail or slide around a corner.

You're right you don't but if you want to make sure there is no influence from the computer having them both off helps with that.

Lol you're basically right...I have a v6, I can spin my winter tires (even without snow) no problem, my summers (295's) i can only spin If I start by turning, like a at a stop sign or something.

My general G-max's spin just fine. Even when they were brand new, if I hammer it in first it will light them up even with the nannies on.

For a manual it's moronically simple. Put it in 1st, mash the gas, slide your left foot out...

With an automatic I assume you first apply red lip-stick, then effervescently squeeze the brake with your left foot while flamboyantly tapping the gas pedal with your right foot and hope for the best?

You have an auto with a V6 so you do not have a posi unit. Youre going to get a one wheel peel, which isnt cool.

I was gonna say maybe cause you're an auto, but if you did it before maybe just give tires some time?

Why buy a v6/auto and expect to do burn outs, wasn't that decision for gas mileage and economy to still have the look?

Why are you trying to burn out anyway.. especially with an auto v6.. just yell your gas mileage out the window and go varoom varoom... that would intimidate me..

It is always so nice to see help from the big boy (V8) folks in a V6 thread.......

Oh and the one wheel peel out doesn't always happen. Would I prefer a posi, hell yeah, if it was an option at the time other than getting a manual, I would have bought it.

yes I know. what I was saying is a V6 is not going to spin the tires from a standstill by stomping the gas like the poster above me said he did in his V8. the problem the OP has is it's an auto (so he can't just pop the clutch) and being an auto, it has an open differential in the back. neither of those make it impossible to do a burnout, for Christ's sake it's got over 300hp. but it makes it a lot harder. especially with new tires.
