This is not a pump. It is a digital voltage controller for your existing pump. Check out MSD's website below for the full explanation.

I purchased a zl1 fuel pump recently, would it work with it in my install?

Yes, it will work with the ZL1 pump, or any other fuel pump. This particular kit was made specifically to be installed into 2010+ Camaros.
