I'm about to open my own can of worms on this question:
I will EVENTUALLY go with a Maggie, maybe a year or two down the road when I can afford one or I sell enough guns to buy a used one. Would it be beneficial to buy some cheap CNC heads now and still run them when I get a blower? I was looking at TSP PRC heads for like $1500 or having my stock heads ported by TSP for $800 and just running ported heads and ported LS3 intake for a while until I get a blower. OR Should I just install the ported intake and have it tuned and not spend money on heads and just wait until I have the money for a blower? My goal is good street drivability and looking for around 525WHP. |

I'd spend my money else where TSP's customer service/ workmanship/ has plummeted IMHO. There are other places you can send them to like TEA, AI, LPE, WCCH all have a great CNC program. Street ability is going to depend on the skills of your tuner and your supporting mods like gears and/or stall speeds. You won't need a ported intake with a blower so I'd get rid of it IMHO and just wait til you get a blower if your gonna want to port the heads. But I'd compliment the heads/blower with a good cam. Just my .2

I agree with this, but one thing I'll add is to drop the Maggie and go with an ECS kit. Their a bit cheaper for a kit and IMHO you can get more power out of them. Plus I've never heard anything bad from anyone that's ever dealt with ECS.

![]() Blowers are all preference, where do you want the power and how much do you want but I'm inclined to agree (albeit I'm slightly biased) I agree, I LOVE my ECS SC. But I didn't want to be in boost all the time. I wanted on demand but not constant, plus I made far more power than any Maggie or Whipple could of given me out of the box. Centris are MUCH easier on the drivetrain and rearend, more power, you can adjust power without retune via restriction plates. You can cheaply add meth (I would) , you reasonably priced pulley down and make even more power. PLUS drive ability remains virtually stock. On a base ECS kit with just a cam I made 660whp, I added heads ported manifold and meth and was mid 800s with TQ to match and my drivability NEVER deteriorated. This was my DD in light to light traffic. Hit me up if you have any questions, I'm happy to answer. |

Also consider the TFS GenX heads... they are a little bit more but I would wager they offer more plus you can sell your stock heads.
That's the route I'm planning for late next year. Could change though. Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk

What would be better for torque and 1/4 mile times. Looking at doing some research for some s/cs for the next year when I go f.i. I know a centri is best for amazing peak horsepower but I saw superchargedss get in the low 10s with a Maggie with a lot less horsepower than some of these centri guys. So what s/c produces the best torque I'm looking at Whipple and Maggie. besides the fact that the whipple is a twin screw and the Maggie a roots I have no idea how the two power bands differentiate.
