Before I bought my house where I now live, I first rented in the city I moved to and got a house with a one car detached garage for $75 more than a comparable house without a garage. The garage barely fit the Camaro, had to be real careful opening the door, could hit the 2x4 exposed studs on the sidewalls.

So I guess I paid $75 a month but it was close by to drive as I saw fit and it had an add-on shed built onto the back so it stored a bunch of stuff for me.

I thought it was a good price.

I must admit. I never would have bought my conv. if I didn't have a garage!

I rented a non climate controlled 10x20 storage unit in the Atlanta suburbs from 2000-2007. The price was $100-$140 during that time. So accounting for inflation $160 doesn't seem to out of line to me.

Well I have owned several convertibles and all have sat outside year around and have not had any issues with any of them, this one sat out all last winter and the only issue I have noticed is with the water management bag this one has it tends to hold water more than the other cars I have had and if I don't drive it for a couple weeks and there has been precipitation and heat and cool cycles we tend to have around here, the condensation buildup on the windows and hard plastic parts is more than I like. In fact the other morning it was so bad water was running down the inside of the windshield and dripping from the windshield frame. And I know the car does not leak so it has to be condensation.

My Camaro already needs some paint repair, so I'll tolerate it being outside for now. Besides, my garage budget is now a car payment.

I paid just under $300 4 years ago for good car cover. She sleeps outside and hasn't complained.

Angry Bird..

If you have a space to park it, you might look into a car capsule..

http://www.carcapsule.com/

$400 - $700 that's 3 - 6 months rent, but in the long term you can use it over and over year after year..

I have one for my motorcycle, I have a driveway no space in garage for the bike, it's been it that capsule for 10 years, (except when I ride it) and stood up to 40 mph winds and heavy downpours (well as heavy as one can expect in Southern CA).

worth every dime.. Bike still looks brand new and has no weather damage..

Im in Ga so we have somewhat of similar weather, i just leave it outside and wash it once per week. Even if it means using a car wash (evil swirls) oh well i get over it quickly.

People without Garages, how much would you pay to store your car?

Having a 3-car garage on my house was always mandatory for me. I'm also lucky that I live in Las Vegas where the coldest nights are only around 30 degrees.

Nothing. My parents made me clear out and organize the 2 car garage and in return I get to store the camaro. Clean and organize were all the conditions stated.. But nothing about turning my half into a shop!
