ive noticed through the years that people that say "its just a car" are the same ones who drive clunkers or take public transportation since they have no vehicle. My instagram is full of photos of my car and people always say "dude its only a car" -__-

I am the same way. I take meticulous care of my camaro and any other auto I own. I kindly explain to people there are 3 things you don't mess with of mine

1. My food
2. My wife
3. My Car

Not neseccarily in that order.

I built my motorcycle from scratch. I caught a guy admiring it with his wife. They had parked right next to my bike. I watched as he thru a leg over and touched my suicide shift and swung it back and forth. I yelled at the top of my lungs for him not to touch it. I'm not exactly a small guy. He looked at me like I was crazy and told me it was just a bike. I turned around jumped up onto the hood of his car and sat down on it. I asked him how he was feeling at that exact moment. I hopped off when he started apologizing. I'm a rational guy lol

I have one from 10 years ago in college. I parked my car on the street near campus and as I was walking towards it I saw a lady trying to street park next to it. Sure enough she hit my front bumper with her rear bumper, got out and started walking. The conversion went like this:

Me: Miss Excuse me but you just hit my car
Her: No I didn't
Me: I saw you hit my car while you were trying to park
Her: I didn't hit your car, i bumped the bumper, thats what its there for, and walked away

I was in such shock, plus there was no damage, that I just stood there shaking my head as this ignorant woman walked away.

Exactly , to put my Camaro in perspective it cost 37k or around that. My Jeep Rubicon has 50k in it and it goes in the mud/small ponds. It's rode hard and put away wet.

Compared to the real important things in life, like friends and family...it is just a car.

But in reality we take pride in these machines. To me, my car is a source of beauty, and pride, and I've put effort into it to make it my own. It is certainly not just a car to me.

But there are lots of people who feel they are just that...transportation only.
