I rented a 2014 camaro while traveling in upstate New York for business and it was an LS? I fell in love with that car. Got another free upgrade during my trip to Louisiana sealed the deal. I begin to hunt one down and found a 13' 1SS because I hated the 14 body style... While at the lot checking out the very specific car I hunted down they showed me the 14' 2SS I liked the body on this one.... Drive it and quickly cheated my mind and signed the dotted line for the 2SS Never looked back!

Different strikes for different folks...

Hi. Those are engines in the SS models:

L99 is the automatic transmission equipped engine, which has active fuel management

LS3 is the manual transmission equipped engine. Your car has an LS3

It's kinda odd that the engines changed depending on transmission choice, but in doing this GM made some pretty good MPGs possible with the automatic trans.

I don't know how they could be on a level playing fields. I have seen guys in our car club with all the major bolt-ons the v6 guys are doing... minus a power adder and they are still not running as fast as a stock L99 at the drag strip. Don't let the low end seat in the pants fool you. Down the 1320 is where you would see the difference.

I've had both a LT and a SS both 2012's. Love both cars and would be happy with either one. No regrets getting the SS except when i'm at the gas station.

Agree - I only have a bit over 500 miles on mine but did the fuse pull 2 days ago to reset for the 93 that I have been putting into this (now on my 3rd tank full)...and have started to notice a difference...and the engine is still in the process of being broken in.

I'm not planning on banning you despite your title, but don't tell me that my L99 has worse acceleration than your LFX. That's nonsense, and you know it.

I will say that the V6 is a beast—I owned one—but it isn't beating this Camaro.

Ain't that just like a mod. A guy asks for something, and you just won't give it to him.

The V6 is one hell of a motor no question about that but no matter what you do to it you wont get that beautiful sound of a V8 that is simply priceless.

You should have said you test drove a ZL1 then a Mustang V6 and the Mustang V6 felt faster, that would have caused a better firestorm.

No see, he was stating a form of intermodel condescension, it's just that we're tolerant of it going one way, just not the other. Kind of reminds me of current events right now.

Hey whatever about the difference between the cars. Drive what drives you. Ooh, I like that, I might get it on a t shirt.

Even with the divorce lawyer, she gets half your stuff, half you money, never would have worked out

Wow.. not at all what I was expecting, glad to see people actively participating on the form but I will never again make the mistake of bringing up old wounds like this one lol. Its not that serious. Just my opinion, going to Europe any way so Ill have to part ways with my oversized American lover either way... but for the record there are many factors that go into what makes a car great. If it was absolutely positively all about speed No camaro would even make the conversation. Features, Charisma, Styling, Comfort, Affordability, and seat of your pants feel all play a crucial role in what makes the Camaro a great car. I personally feel that for the money there are certain combinations of the V6 trim that fit the bill just as well as SOME of the V8 models..
