1LE Launch Control
My manual says the car has launch control, but I can't seem to figure out how to use it, i search the term launch control and didn't see much. Anyone got some pointers.
also on a totally seperate note but I figure someone can link me, Camaro 5 has a yearly meet right, like car show or something, i thought I remembered reading about, is there one scheduled for upcoming 2014 season? |

Check out the owners manual. Don't have it memorized (still breaking engine in) but you you can access the competition mode including launch control by pressing the stability control button twice IIRC.
For the yearly meetup believe it will be in TX this coming year. Details in the camarofest sub forum.

OP I would stay away from LC. Axles have been broken using it. And it is not as fast as you could be with practice.

Put the car in competitive mode via pressing the TC button twice in a row. When in this mode, you can go full throttle during a stop with the clutch pressed in. The car will limit you to 4,000 RPM. This means you are in launch control and then you just dump the clutch or ease it in, which ever, and the car will "TC" the launch for max grip. However, most magazines had better times and luanches without it, this just helps you be consistent.
I too think this is abusive to the car if you do it too much, once in a while is not bad probably but you know what I mean.

Does anyone know how much competition mode helps or does it not help on a road course? The last time I went, I kept everything on and I think that may have slowed me down a tad. But on the other hand, turn everything off and you will get more oversteer... in other words is competition mode only for launching?

For launch control to work you cannot dump, side step or drop the clutch. The correct technique Chevy taught at the drive events was to let the clutch out quicker than normal or quick, but do not pop it.
Does it work at the drag strip, yes, but depending on traction my car would bog after. (I tried it 3 times) Anyone with experience drag racing will produce better 60ft times without the Launch Control. Competition mode at the track works well. It allows plenty of room to play but will help you in if you get way outta sorts. My fastest lap times were by holding the button down for the 8 seconds and turning everything "off" . This lets you get all outta sorts and sideways, but I am sure I have felt stability kick in. I have yet to track the 1LE in the rain/wet.....I will be able to confirm that it is not all the way off when I do. Matt

I used LC at a strip and had terrible wheel hop. Id recommend not using it on a drag strip but on the road its fine. I've noticed my car ends up bogging down when I use it. Id rather launch it myself.
I used LC about 5-8 times total.
