Our kit is technically a true "ram air" and "CAI (Cold Air Induction)" The level of fabrication and unique design is what makes it expensive. Plus it is 100% made in the USA right down to the clamps used with it.

No, Mine is a CAI from Fastlane Inc. out of Houston. It is true cold air and draws its air from behind the front bumper cover below the left fog lamp. No
engine or radiator heat there. Just nice cool air.

How can it be "cold air" or "ram air" when there is no opening above the radiator for it to be pulling any air in from?

most everyone dynos with the hood open.... AND with a huge fan blowing air to simulate airflow while the vehicle is in motion.
The point I was trying to make was that when you dyno a short ram intake with the hood open you aren't simulating real world conditions. With the hood closed alot of heat builds up in the engine bay and that short ram intake sucks that hot air up. When you dyno with the hood open the short ram intake sucks cold air so you MIGHT end up with higher HP numbers then it would normally produce in real world situations.

So thats why I say be careful with dyno numbers from a short ram intake.

But when the car's moving a tuned Ram Air/CAI a can pressurize the intke with cool air. A static car on a dyno' doesn't necessarily replacate real-world conditions under all circumstances.

Look at all they dyno claims from all the companies right now. They all claim about 20hp...all the different designs. Even the otr and the CAI with the extra pipe that picks up air from under the bumper. IMO it doesnt matter that much where its grabbing air from as much as them removing the stock baffles and allowing the intake to grab more air in the first place. Numbers dont like.....well sometimes they force them to lie, but theres no way they are all going to be with in 2-3 hp from each other if the otr's were actually a better design.

there is an opening in front of the radiator that the New Era intake pulls air from.

yes, but when the vehicle is in motion that underhood heat is reduced via the airflow of the moving vehicle. the short ram intake isnt pulling air from the engine bay, its pulling ambient air from in front of the radiator from right behind the grille. with the hood open, its no different. the only difference with the hood open is allowing the engine itself to stay a little cooler.

Would there be any benifit to a true 90 degree bend going to the TB instead of an almost 90 degree bend. Ive noticed most systems are like this, it looks kind of off. If it doesnt matter than it doesnt matter. Im just curious, and no not gay bi curious.
