There should be a few good LS shops around the Tampa area. If you can't find one, a mail order tune for just a set of LT's is really a no brainer. I'd definitely pick a shop that you plan to do future business with. They will give you better deals down the road.

Yeah I've talked to a few of the shops around town and have mixed emotions about them all. They all took to bad mouthing the "other" guy. I'm not a fan of those business tactics. I found one tuner that I think is the best in the area but he has a reputation of being cocky. I could care less as long as the tune is dead on. The labor doesn't bother me I built my first engine when I was 15. I've built more than a few and with books and Google and the forum I'm positive a heads/cam/intake swap is not too big a deal. I just have in my head that I don't REALLY need to get a dyno tune and spen $400 tune + 200 dyno time to set up the car for bolt on mods.

Its your money but my 93 octane remote tune didn't even touch the timing tables, or almost anything else, and its from a remote tuner on here that claims to be a remote tuning genius from doing more LS cars than anyone else. It also had some forced induction copy/paste work and I'm NA...

See that's the kind of thing that worries me. I like the idea of this kind of set up from Livernois... http://www.livernoismotorsports.com/...-Vehicles.html

It runs off of data logging so it could/should be better than a simple mail order tune. It's updateable for a small fee from my understanding too.

I like the idea of having my tune done and having dyno numbers to prove improvements.

Data logging wouldn't have changed anything. If they plan on giving you crap then making you send one added email only for them to say its spot on means nothing. It left a lot on the table. Just my 2 cents.

+1. Another option is to buy hpt and start learning. It's not a fun way to blow money, but it will pay you back in the long run.

I'm really leaning towards local dyno tune. You are making a compelling argument.

I haven't looked at my tune from who he's talking about, but my car would die backing out of the driveway on top of a bunch of other weird behaviors. Been there, done that... Learned my lesson.

Hey do you guys know if Rhino will work with my tuner on tuning a VVT cam? I'm going to buy a VVT cam from Rhino but when I asked my tuner about them, I don't think he is as well versed as Rhino on them. The guy I'm using is a friggin' genius and a tuning guru so I'm sure he can figure it out but I want to make sure because he is going to be doing a lot of work on my car this year.

I'm sure he will if you buy your cam from him. Assuming your tuner needs very little direction.

Hey guys for those that are on my FB, do y'all remember me talking about the GTR that pulled me so hard from about a 30 punch? I've been wondering if he hit the spray is why after I got my back bumper just passed the front of his car only for him to fly by me and out about 3-5 lengths in to time at all. Well, today I found out he has over 750 at wheels.... That explains a lot... Haha
