Sad.
And condolences to those who have lost someone in any kind of accident, be it victim or the driver who caused it...Lord knows we've all been stupid at least once behind the wheel.
And sometimes it only takes one time.....

Sad indeed but Drinking and driving is never a good idea. I think DUI laws need to be more strict, too many people don't take it seriously or get off too easy IMO. I know of a lot of multiple offenders and people who have gotten killed in such accidents.. offenders and innocent bystanders.. Of course a person is going to make their own choices but maybe stricter laws and harsh punishment would make some people think twice about it?

Kept seeing this in the news all day yesterday. I live not too far from there too. It doesn't say in that particular news story but the camaro was a convertible and they flew roughly 100ft and flipped it. Not much chance of walking away even with a seatbelts at that point.

Condolences to all involved...and my prayers go out for all the self righteous who have never made a bad decision or a mistake. Some of you should be embarrassed of your comments.

I really don't think anyone is saying they have never made a bad decision or mistake in their lives, but rather they have not made a bad decision or mistake of this degree.

Sux it had to happen. Glad no one else got hurt.

Whether its Drunk Driving, Speeding or Texing be what it may. The death of anyone is sad and the hardship it puts on their families is terrible. R.I.P. and my condolences to the family of the departed.

sad. this isn't a forum for deciding who is right and wrong. Nor am i going to vent about the someone dying. and yes, your comment was from a view of being self righteous. who are you to decide who should be ashamed. I am not and funny it has nothing about being cool.

good luck in growing up. you have a long road ahead of you. (and designate a driver!)

let me edit/add:
drinking and driving is irresponsible.
I had a uncle killed by a drunk. i also lost troops who got drunk, drove and sometimes killed only themselves and sometimes others.

Accidents happen. If your drinking and you hurt or kill yourself, you knew better. if you kill or hurt someone else, then that pain should live withyou forever.

2 cents. good luck

Nice assumption that I drive drunk! I was DD this year for New Years as a matter of fact. Your knowledge just continues to impress. I am far from self righteous, just have lived enough to know not to pass judgment about others mistakes. I have made many, as everyone has. We have a different opinion of how this situation should be looked at, and you are correct that this is not the right place to decide it. Best of luck to you.

Let me edit/add as well......
I agree drinking and driving is irresponsible
I have not lost loved ones or friends to this tragedy, but did lose one car to an accident involving a drinking driver (which put me in the hospital) and the side of another car...no injuries.
Your right, accidents do happen. If they involve drugs or alcohol, the person should have know better. Our difference in opinion is that I find them no less tragic, even if only the guilty party was the fatality.
