You didn't say that. You are then talking about comparing the price of a car with only AC and a 4 speaker stereo to a car with about every option you could imagine anyway you would still have to add $13000 of options to a 3LT Stingray to bring it up to $76,000.... The closest Stingray you can get to a Z/28 would be the Z51 1LT with MR suspension and Recaro Seats, and that will still cost way less than the Z/28,

Wow that is a lot more than I expected. It is a very cool car, but for the price I just don't see it. The c7 Z06 can't be too much more than that.

There are plenty of MSRP only dealers like mine here in Houston. I bought one of the very first ZL1's from one in Dallas.

Basically the Z28 took the SS Camaro's place for a few years starting in 74 then when they brought the SS back in the 4th gen they put it above the Z28. Now the 5th gen comes and the SS is the top dog for a while, then came the ZL1 and now the Z/28. So anything is possible in Camaroland. But I wouldn't count on them ever going the route of the late 2nd, 3rd and 4th gens again.

Expect another $25,000 on top of the Z/28 for that one.............but agree can't wait to see it shortly.

I'm looking forward to this time next year when there are a hundred threads here on good times at the track instead of threads from people who would never buy a Z/28 in the first place but are determined to "prove" actual buyers must pay ADM...lol. And how the car should have had half it's content cut so it would appeal to the all the same posters who don't track, so that we have yet one more compromised, half-hearted offering on the market.
No wonder very few really cool cars are designed and built in North America, all the hue and outcry from so many wanting something for nothing. GM is about to produce the only track-focused, track-ready, track-durable, track-warranted car in the world. And all most of you can do is bitch.

Why? Base corvette price from c6 to c7 didn't jump dramatically.

Also consider that the Z51 is nearly equal to the previous Z06 in performance. I'm expecting there will need to be a leap in Z06 performance as well compared to a Z51. And like the Z/28 I'm guessing premium powertrain and premium brakes as standard driving the cost way up there. But in a week or so we'll see what engine it has and what brake it has and see where she goes. I hope I'm wrong BTW.
