CR Needs A Personality Transplant

I am proud to own two vehicles that Consumer Reports does not recommend. As someone involved in the automobile business, I feel they place too much emphasis on operating costs, and fail to reward driving dynamics, curb appeal, and even resale value. For instance, according to KBB, the FJ Cruiser -- which CR hates -- has the best resale value of all cars being made today. And down the line, Camaros in good condition will be worth a lot, because the gov't is ramping up their CAFE restrictions. Cheers to everyone who drives fun cars and trucks!

When I originally bought my car, I specifically asked for a SS. I figured if I was going to lose MPG, I might as well do it with the best car I could find and was more fun. I had a G35 that I traded in. I've modified this car so much now, and lost even more MPG's, but it's been well worth it and I have so much fun with it. This car I go to car shows in and am damn proud of showing it off, but I use this car as a weekend car because of my family. I say to hell with they say and every person should happy with their decision.

Me too, in the end all we have are the good times (or bad).

Same here, Bodih. Especially when I look at the price of new models like the 2014 Spring Special Edition. Zikes!!

Edit: and to whoever wrote the article - define value! :-)

It doesn't really matter to me it Consumer Reports likes the Camaro Convertible or not. Of all the convertibles out there, it was the one I wanted!

One could get the opposite impression from their video review

It is because they ranked this based on a spreadsheet. Consumer's reports will bag on the spreadsheet guys for designing cars, then turn around and rate the cars with a spreadsheet. Must be nice to have it both ways!
