![]() Oh come on, it'd take you all of ten minutes to scan the MSRP dealers thread to find an MSRP dealer near you. I get that you personally couldn't walk into a Chevy dealer and buy one at MSRP, but I've walked into three and been offered MSRP without even saying anything. It goes both ways. If you're talking about the fact that a Camaro can cost more then $34k because of extra's, I suggest no one cite the base price of any car, ever. Especially not the GT500.

I had a 2008 GT500. I hated the clutch and driveline chatter.
The Camaro is smoother with no chatter. But, it is geared too tall.

Good replies all. I really do love the Camaro - GREAT lines and fantastic interior design. I just drove the Camaro tonight and enjoyed the heck out of it with the NOWEEDS exhaust system full open for a bit and then about 1/8 open which pretty much sounds like a good cat-back system in that position. It's super nice to be able to close it up for the cruise back to the neighborhood.
In my mind, I'm mostly comparing it to the '04 Cobra and not the GT500 or Viper. The only issue is that I owned the '04 a few years ago (sold it in '06), so maybe my mind is playing tricks on me with the passage of time on how fast that car really was. I think I'm going to take the following advice: wait for 1500 miles to tick off, get a dyno baseline, add CAI and tune, and then seat-of-the-pants and dyno the car. It'll be an interesting experiment. BTW - for the record, I'm a very happy Camaro owner and not bashing this car at all. I'm super fortunate to own some of the best that the Big Three have ever offered, and I'm planning on holding on to them for a long time! It's definitely a dream come true to have them all. Here's a shot of them sleeping - funny how the Camaro completely blocks out the Viper ACR! |

Nice garage man...
Back on topic though, get the Borla exhaust (forgot the model #), tune, and intake, then get the oil changed after 1500 miles and your car should wake up a bit. |
