And they answered you, but if they are not going to make it does it really matter? Its not the old days when you could swap and engine and most of the wiring was the same. Call Apple and tell them you want a Ipod with 1 TB of memory. They would say sure, that will be 20 million please.

Have you read about the Z/28 at all? You do know that it is much more than just a motor change don't you. If you're looking for a 1LE with 505hp, that isn't very hard or expensive to aquire. You could even put Z/28 stickers on it if that will make you feel better.

So think here. Gm would sell a ls7 1le for 60k. So there is the majority of the 75k price tag. IMO if it costs them 30k for that motor to be in a Camaro ( if you actually believe that)and the z28 is even more rare meaning more cost, then they simply picked the wrong motor.

You missed the point. Your "burn" comment was more useful.

Not sure where you are getting 30k from..... A 1SS 1LE is 37,750.00.

60k-37,750 does not equal 30k.

I don't recall anyone mentioning the dry sump system, just throwing that out there. TL;DR

More parts that would have to be validated!

Easily 20k in parts right here......

I think everyone but yourself is missing your point. GM did exactly what I've been reading about on hear for years now from the Z/28 faithful, and now they are upset at what it cost to do so. Why can't you see that GM already put an LS7 in a camaro, and it cost 75k to do so and still make money. You were looking for the exact cost to do this. Well, read the first post in this thread and there is your answer.

Im going to say this one last time. Take away whatever the full ls3 setup costs. Harnes, mounts, electronics, accessories, ect. When you look at a v6 camaro and decide you want a v8 camaro do you pay the full price of the v6 motor and all and then add on the v8? No, you don't.

How about you and 100,000 of your friends sign a contract with GM for 100,000 1LE's with/LS7's and I bet it would be cheaper.

Oh the drama! How do any of us know what it really cost GM? He needs to let it go. I believe he said he doesn't care about the Z/28 anyway. Time for us all to get back to the Z/28.
