You should race her car at the track (full 1/4 mile).

Here's a video of a stock IS350 running 13.7.

And I also read where a guy was runnng mid 13s in winter conditions in his
IS350.
Here a slip of another stock IS 350 in 49 degree weather.
1/4 Mile ET: 13.420
1/4 Mile MPH: 103.120
1/8 Mile ET: 8.640
1/8 Mile MPH: 81.840
0-60 Foot ET: 1.980
Temperature F: 49.0

So they are pretty fast. But if your car was running at 100%, you would be beating her car by a couple lengths in a full 1/4 mile race. A good tune is all you need.

I had this bouncing around in the back of my head too. I finally opted to not deal with the dealer on this, and get the Dyno tune at a high-end performance shop (ADM). I can always buy a stock ECM and have it tuned to my original VIN's spec's, in the event that a need for warranty presents itself... and I'm happy as pie now with my car, which is pulling 8.5 1/8 mile times and chirping in multiple gears if I like.

Uh. Tell me this isn't true. I mean, that's if they were to try to do that.

Hers is a 2007. Listed for 5.1, 0-60 when we bought it. Didn't see a quarter mile listing at the time.

The first time we raced (or me against her car) it was actually OVER a quarter mile and she killed me. She was out in front like on of those electric drag cars. By the time I got to where I was pulling on hers, my buddy had to start slowing down. This time it was MUCH closer, even through a shorter distance. Hers got out easily quicker and probably had a couple lengths on me at around 330' but I narrowed it by the 1000' or so mark.

I'm VERY particular about where we run at. My freind wanted to go to a place where I wouldn't run. It would have had plenty for a full 1/4 mile but wasn't shored up on the sides and visibility to the sides wasn't enough to keep an animal or something or give time to see a hazard enough for my liking. That place almost doesn't exist. VERY hard to find.

It's all right... but not of the "untrue" variety. It can happen... it has happened... it does happen. It kinda boils down to the dealerhsip/service manager you are dealing with... and how "friendly" or "loose" they are with the letter of the law (rules).

This 60' time makes perfect sense as to how she got out in front so fast before I at least narrowed the gap.

Chirping in 2nd and third with the auto tranny on THIS car would definately make me a believer in your tune. lol

Mine has been barking 2nd gear at about 1/2 throttle ever since the tune. The first time it did it I was shocked. I pulled out onto the main road and pushed the gas pedal about 1/2 way down. When it shifted into 2nd gear it barked the tires (which it had never done before).

It's a combination of more torque and a reduction in torque managment.

Do you have any skilled LSX tuners in your area? If you do decide to get your car tuned, make sure you get it done by someone with a lot of experience tuning LSX vehicles.
