So, I called my dealer to tell him I'm ordering my ZL1 on the 18th. He tells me that he checked with his inventory manager and was told that the latest they could order the car was next week that way it would be here by April since GM is about to cut out of production after the second week of January. Which means, they would start 2015 production soon. So, I called GM directly. They told me the build out date of the '14 has NOT been determined. He said the dealership was probably going on last years stats. So, makes me wonder...believe GM or the dealership. Wouldnt they know this. Guess I'll order it this weekend. Oh well, one week closer I guess.

Believe GM... 14's will get built all the way into June sometime. Right now you can't order 1LE's or ZL1's but that will open up soon.

The ZL1 and 1LE both are on order constraint until 2nd week of February. Regardless of what the dealer told you... they can't even submit an order until then.

According to the Chevroletnrep I just spoke to, they show no constraints on ordering the '14 ZL1

They can probably be submitted, just won't be built till the weather has warmed up a little. ZL1s and 1LEs come with tires that aren't supposed to be in under 20 degree weather. Given the location of the plant I'm sure you can see the issue. If you're serious I'd order up now and your car should be first in line (along with the others who have ordered) to be built once they resume.

Technically that's correct however you cannot put an order into the system for them right now. Just let your dealer know you want one and when it opens up on February 11th he can get you an order number.

Then you can come back here and track the progress in Becky's Thread.
