What about VHT caliper paint? It is rated for a higher temperature.

Nice write up. I wonder how the clear will hold up to the heat.

Nice write up BlownSS! I plan to attempt this myself as well (instead of spending the big bucks on Mike's Powdercoating - which always looks perfect!). I purchased VHT SP148 Engine Enamel Light Gray Primer Can - 11oz, VHT SP731 Real Red Brake Caliper Paint Can - 11oz and VHT SP145 Engine Enamel Gloss Clear Can - 11oz.

My plan is to unbolt the calipers so I can hit them from all angles, prep them like described above, shoot the primer, then the Red, then apply "Brembo" stickers, then shoot them with the clear.

I'm also going to paint the rotor hats with my "secret find" absolute best non-offensive neutral colored Dupli-Color Engine Enamel Ceramic 500 degree DE1651 Cast Coat Iron spray paint that O'Reilys Auto Parts carries. This holds up great and keeps the rotors from rusting.

I agree, you just gotta take your time and do it right.

Great write up!! I think I will wait till spring to paint mine and I have to upgrade to my stainless steel brake lines so I think I will take them off the car to paint.

Everyone that will remove the calipers:
REMEMBER you must replace the caliper bolts. They are single use torque to yield. The last thing you want to happen is to have them fail in a panic stop
They are cheap, get them from your dealer

Do you or anyone know the item numbers for the bolts and copper washers for the calipers?

OP - did you remove the brake pads or just the retaining clips?

Thanks for the DIY post.
