The Options / DIY has only just begun. One option is to install the door locks from 2012-2013's like DWALEX's DIY before the MyLink install.

I honestly don't care about door locks. It's only me and the wife and every now and then my father so I'm not even concerned about it.

Will it end up being more economic if parts are bought separately on our own? Or if we buy the whole kit?

Buy the kit. From someone who is piecing it together and finding out the hard way that it isn't as feasible. Ofer's kit will have everything you need. I did get a good deal on my parts that I figured I would save a few bucks here and there but turns out they may not be compatible.

That's a maybe. The 14's are on a different software platform, so Ofer and GTPrix will have to chime in on that.

I have an interesting question, that's kind of related to this thread...
Could a guy that already HAD a mylink in his car "easily" take it out and replace it with some other double din unit... If so, will the heater controls still work? Plug and play harness for this in the future if needed? |
