What most forget is that when you ask someone whether to do an h-pipe or x-pipe, they immediately think of a tru-x. The magnaflow part is NOT an x-pipe. It is a MUFFLER that has an x-pipe design on the inside. They are two COMPLETELY different things. Tru x-pipes usually do add more rasp. The magnaflow part is a muffler so of course it will quiet down the exhaust. That's how it eliminates the rasp.

Another thing is, and this is solely my opinion, but I don't like the way any four or six cylinder cars sound when they just rev while in park. It sounds way to raspy and doesn't give you the best example of the true sound of the car. To me, a car sounds really good when you can get the drive-away and acceleration sound right. Since I never really rev the car, the other two portions of the sound are the most important to me.

And i agree about the v6 rev thing. I also believe there is no real v6 great sound, but still we can always seek to tune it to take the best of it!

Yeah that's tooooo lowww!! do u still have the stock mufflers ? maybe thats the reason u have that low sound

to me its a good quality sound. i drive mine everyday so i don't want anything to make my ears bleed. also the stock mufflers are gone, i have a magnaflow x pipe muffler in the middle underneath the car and two magnaflow mufflers sticking out the rear.
Ill try to do a drive-by tomorrow or early next week.

That depends on your perception of sound. some people with the v6 want a v8 sound, not going to happen. so they are never satisfied. i on the other hand love the way mines sounds, i think it sound like this from the factory. this is just how i feel tho.

LScamaro just assumes all V6 engines work and sound the same.
I can compile a list of V6 sports and supercars that sound amazing.

Texas is like Alberta everyone needs a V8 or a truck with a V8. They are conditioned to assume anything less and more than 8 cylinder sounds terrible.

OP just get the resonated X-pipe, anyone running longtube headers should carefully select their exhaust.

Wrong. I'm on a Camaro forum so I'm speaking about the v6 in the Camaro. I have heard other v6s and actually like some of them very much. I will be the first to say that we got shafted with the v6 sound. The Mustang v6 sounds a lot better with an aftermarket exhaust than ours. The v6 charger also sounds better as well. I have also heard some very very nice sounding v6s on here. Jewels, Sixjaks, and others come to mind.

I can also tell you I certainly do not expect for something to have a v8 to sound great. My favorite sounds are actually v12 supercars. But that's all personal preference NOT RELEVANT to the v6 camaro. I can also personally say that my buddies 4 cylinder Scion TC sounded great as it was spooling it's turbo blowing the doors off cars it "shouldn't" be able to beat.

Also, aren't you the one that says that every CAMARO v6 sounds terrible with headers and no x-pipe? Or that if you install a ported tb the car will sound raspy?

No I said Long tube headers sound terrible without a "resonated x-pipe" and never once did I say a ported throttle body makes a car raspy.

I'm actually surprised how much i love the sound for my little 2.0 4 banger!

The Chevy Cruze 1.4T sounds throaty to some degree with a proper exhaust setup.

I haven't listened to a ton of videos of the new Mustang with exhaust, but I've listened to a bunch...but not lately so maybe there are better options now. Anyways, what I'm trying to say is that I haven't heard any that I thought was better than a properly setup LLT with headers.

I just love the LLT with the LT headers and the right exhaust that calms the rasp but still retains a good amount of growl.

Thats because its turbo'd. When i had my cobalt it was supercharged and i went through three different exhaust setups because it sounded like a civic. Once I did a turbo swap it sounded sick with a 3" exhaust.
