This is also assuming both converters are created equal in every other regard.

Don't take this the wrong way bud, But every time on track/converter threads I see you get into full detail. Makes me think you've tried it all. Are you a tuner/trans guru/engine builder? Reason is you get into deep detail but some of the stuff just doesn't add up unless you've tested everything that can be tested on these L99s.

That's exactly what I have said before.

Between me and many friends with other F bodies, Y bodies and general LSx cars of various years I have seen what certain converters do so yes I have some experience but no I am not a tuner/tans,engine builder. Fact of the matter is I never saw where someone locked up a converter and did not gain trap speed. There are exceptions as I have pointed out but in almost every case they gained trap speed. Again, TRAP SPEED not ET. Choose what I type with a grain of salt if you like as that's your God givin American right.

Agree with many of you regarding driver. When approaching the best DA a driver typically sees, to get a PB it takes decent track prep yes, but also skill for properly timing / making the run so everything falls into place. Great driving guys.

Fwiw, I lock mine (3200 FTI billet lock-up) in 3rd and 4th for best results, and I tried a lot of combos.

And again do you know how much ET and trap speed you gained from your converter?
I think you are Absofreakincrazy lol. That is what I thought you were meaning and also why I said something to begin with. You are incorrect in your logic. I can't speak for Terry, but id be willing to bet even he thinks his current converter unlocked would out mph mine if I gave him my converter in his car locked. I think it would change the dynamics of his run. He would have the potential to 60ft harder. Terry don't strike me as the type that can't just buy a new converter and sell his current one if he thought it would help him out.

I can't tell you how much I "gained" from my converter on ET or mph Bc I never tracked my car with the stock converter.
My 1st pass at the track with my car was with this converter I have now "unlocked" with a K&N hot air intake, 1 7/8 cheapo headers, DR's and tune. 1st pass EVER was 12.17 with zero tune adjustments.
After we adjusted my tune and swapped to an ADM CAI with scoop, it went 11.90 112.41
We then locked converter high in 4th gear. It went 11.85 113.26

So yes my converter locked vs "my converter" unlocked pulls more mph. But the rest you are saying is skepticism.

I never said anything about if you two traded converters what it would run. I said I feel confident his car would run faster with a better converter and that's why I thought his trap speed and ET were so damn impressive. I never even meant to compare you two until you did it.

Sooo, what your saying with me being crazy is every bolt on L99 car that wants to run the quickest should get a generic off the shelf Yank SS 3200 and no custom built converter matched to the cars mods is going to run quicker? Bro, it looks as if you wasted $300 and probably your time with the converter company that speced it out for you. Hey everyone look, you can go ahead and forget those $1,100 converters because a run of the mill SS series Yank with only a 3200 stall will make your car the fastest . This bad ass converter will give you a staggering .1 tenth of a second in elapsed time and be the most efficient converter on the market. You will not run any faster with any other converter. If he couldn't have gone faster with a better converter matched for his car then that's pretty sad. I have a SS series Yank and it is not all that, trust me.

Terry, be honest. Do you think you could have gone faster with a custom built converter or is the Yank SS 3200 the be all end all?
