Yep, it looks decidedly un-American which in my opinion is a move in the wrong direction for the Corvette. They should of made the rear look more like the Stingray concept intead of a Camaro. Now there was a great concept that did not look like a Japanese-Ferrari. However, Im sure they wont have any trouble selling em.

I love the new Corvette, it is just beautiful and I can't wait to see one in person.
But I will always feel that the rear end (to me) would have been a great evolution for the current Camaro from 5th to 6th gen. Thats the first thing I thought of when I saw the first released "spy" renderings of the rear months ago. I think the rear of the Vette could have went elsewhere, but I still like it. Now I feel like if the 6th gen Camaro ends up being an evolution of the current design (which would be fine by me) they've kind've killed an attractive tail light option for the rear by giving it to this new Corvette. Heres to the hope that GM can knock the design of the 6th gen out of the friggin park.

C2 taillights
C6 taillights I'm no designer so I'm sure the Corvette designers would have made some adjustments if they would have gone with the circle taillights. |

Other than what one could consider Chevrolet design elements I see nothing in the Stingray that reminds me of a Camaro. Both woderful in their own right, but nothing more than cousins. JMO
Unless people are trying to play up why they don't need a Corvette by simply saying it looks like their Camaro.

I think oval tail lights with the cool "layered" lights would have been the bomb, but oh wells. Again, not hating on that rear, just wishing it was the 6th gen butt I was looking at lol.
I have always loved these early C7 renderings. I think this butt with oval instead of circle and height staggered rear lamps would have been my choice:

Then again, I'd welcome a whole new cool design (and praying it doesn't suck)
