Had my car out a couple of times yesterday, and before the Corsa exhaust was installed I would have to be passing directly by people for them to notice, point, and yell. Now people hear me when I'm heading their way and are looking for me to arrive.

This phenomenon is officially now termed the Corsa Effect.... :-) (sorry, Doppler. NOT!)

The Corsa folks didn't want to keep my car from me any longer so they didn't dyno it, but I can sure tell a big difference in Merlin's get-up-and-GO!!
Shame they didn't do the before and after dyno... it really doesn't take that long... Would have been nice... I would really have like to seen how their dyno sheets compared to my before and after sheets...

They should be coming out with dyno results soon. I believe bond2's car is going to be the one on the dyno as they didnt have time for ours. Power is noticeably increased while driving. Just dont know exact numbers for you

Optimistically 20HP/Tq With that sound and the gas increase I'll settle for much less. LT-V6 with 20's to me just needs 20 to 30 more footpounds of tq to be perfect for my tastes. The only known CAI stats give 15tq/11hp, so to me, the hunt is over ( torque converter perhaps after the warrenty is over)... but the waiting continues

I'm stepping down from a 400hp killer 1998 Trans Am amped up on Tq. I'm am happy with the V6 - hell with the car overall!. My family/associates remained baffled why I didnt go with the SS. I don't need it. I use to think I did till i got comfortable in the v6. Only thing I felt i would be missing was a richer sound. You guys have sold me on this exhaust.

its really not hard at all. cut the exhaust before the axle( i believe you have to do that on this car as you do on all other cars), unbolt catback from downpipe/headers, unbolt any retaining hardware and remove exhaust hangers, drop old system out, grease up new bolts/clamps and begin to reinstall working from the downpipe/header back to the back, finger tightening all hardware until you get everything up and then crank everything down to torque specs.

I kept my Trans Am, and still drive it at least once a week. When I drive the Camaro I miss the low end torque of my V8, I like the short throw shifter in my TA better and the stock Camaro exhaust was too raspy and whiny. The Corsa exhaust has a real enjoyable sound even with mild acceleration, but is dead silent on the highway while cruising. So for me it was perfect. I think for the money a 2LT RS is really alot of car.

I couldnt agree with you more. It is an amazing car. The corsa exhaust is sounding better every time we drive it. I cant keep my mom away from the car! lol. I love how quiet it is when idling or just low RPM cruising, but when u wanna get on that sucker, damn does it sound good. AND its definately a head turner. Thats one advantage of riding passenger, you get to see the of everyone as u pass them by lol

I contacted them. They are not offering an axle back system as they said they needed to do a full cat back in order to get rid of the rasp that was nagging them. They said they will begin shipping in two weeks at $1599.

I don't think you will see much gain at all, at least not in PEAK HP/TQ. There will be some small gains more in the mid-range. it's more like the 6 to 8 range.

We did a before and after on my car. We cut the mufflers out and replace them with a couple of resonators.

Here is the result:

closeup of the gain:

I'm guessing the bottle neck at the higher RPMs is further up stream... cats or maybe heads...

That is my opinion... YMMV...

Thanks for the post! Love the exhaust, the sound is right on and looks to be a clean install. Thus far these sound the best, thanks for sharing.

Hhmm i dont know i think you should see more than 6-8hp. my cobalt picked up 10hp from the catback alone...i couldnt see all of that work only netting 6-8hp.

Were doing the Dyno tomorrow starting at 11 AM. Were gonna throw the stock exhaust back on dyno and then put the Corsa back on and dyno, so the results will be true to my vehicle. I'll post the results probably later tomorrow afternoon.....
