If all that is wrong with it is the paint, keep it. If you DD it and track it, you'll screw the paint up anyway.

If your worried about the budget, then its not the car for you. ZL1s are not cheap to drive.

If they said they only painted the bumper cover and you are seeing color variations near the a pillar, it is either a factory feature or the crash and work was greater than you where told. I would look carefully at all mounting points to the front suspension and engine any overspray. Maybe a body shop can tell you how hard it was hit.

The pics are pretty accurate, especially the second set.

Just sharing so you guys get my frame of mind.

When I see the car I smile, so I think I'm keeping it.

YDream car = keeper. You can paint match it because that would be way more easy on you. Just because you don't need to worry about your getting your dream car and the buying process all over again. You would prolly second guess and regret that you didn't keep your dream car.

Look at it like your wife ( it's cheaper to keeper! ) Plus you got the best of both worlds. Have your dream car and for a cheap price.

I can't tell the difference in the close up pictures that you posted I highly doubt anyone other than you will ever notice it. You purchased the car for 15-18k under the new price, a couple of minor issues should be expected. On the bright side you purchased the car low enough that should you decide to sell in the near future your financial loss should be low.

Ive owned 3 5th gens in the last 4 years and every one has some sort of paint issue. The reds and oranges never seem to match the plastic parts to the metal parts. If it was touched up or painted by a dealer the painted parts will have a lifetime warranty so long as you own the car. I was at my dealer yesterday and there was a zl1 in the bay with a guy complaining about what was obviously a repainted bumper and same deal er has white zl1 w paint touch ups all around and on fuel door brand new in the showroom. Enjoy the car for what it is under the crappy paint, we all have it and an ss is no zl1 regardless how nicely its painted
