Nothing wrong with it just don't like the way it drains. I also end up leaving the bottom valve open since you have to turn it the opposite way. I just always forget so figured I would just get one where I can unscrew the bottom that way I won't have to worry if it is open or not. I also like the look of the Apex can over the Rx one.

On my Rx I took that stupid drain off pain in the A$$. Replaced with 1/2 in. threaded black pipe. Put lock shut off valve on the bottom end up side down so it don't vibrate open put another 4in. piece on the bottom of the shut off valve. Covered the pipe with a piece of black hose. This all eliminated the stupid unscrew procedure w/plastic hose held in place w/tie zip. No problems in 2 yrs.

Catch can is always good. It's fine if it's on before the tune. That should be your next mod.

I don't have a tune and won't have. But me personally I wouldn't be with out one. Once you put one on and see how much oil is collected.

Agreed, I'm putting one back on once I take my car to NEP again.

I will look for you also. RX cans look great and color match. But the company has been a mess and sometimes the cans take months to come in. But there is definitely other options.

The catch can creates a torturous path for the oil vapor in the PCV system to drop out of the air stream and collect in the can instead of in the intake manifold and intake ports in the heads and create that crappy looking oily carbon buildup on the back side of the intake valves and in the combustion chambers were it can cause detonation.
I believe it is always a good idea. on my car I have collected 1/2 to 3/4 of a cup of oil in the first 3000 miles. Think of the mess this would make in the intake. LS engines use oil, that's why you hear more about catch cans now than in the past.
The can should have no effect on a tune. All the can is doing is adding some volume in the PCV system to collect oil. If it's installed correctly and there are no vacuum leaks it should have absolutely no effect on performance. If you have a vacuum leak then you are going have a problem because you now have air entering the intake manifold that is bypassing the Mass Air Flow Sensor. If your performance changes with a catch can then you probably have a vacuum leak and are sucking unmonitored air into the intake tract.

I should of brought that up to you awhile back when I had my issue.

But I swore I had everything installed correctly. Heck I installed a few before this last time. My car was running very poorly after the install, I can't explain it what so ever. But I read online that it can throw your tune off, SSMike had a similar situation. I guess maybe the check valve just changed the vacuum and caused the problem on my setup. Maybe I will reinstall and try again.
