I would be ripping my car apart if it was at least 40F not the 9F it is now
40F is shorts weather in Chicago Since i have a 2010 i heard that there might be a chance that i might have 2 coax wire going to the onstar like in this item http://www.ebay.com/itm/BLUETOOTH-ON...48256a&vxp=mtr when i look at it i seem like that bluetooth piece is just a antenna covering a coax plug. not sure it it will work but i would like to upgrade the onstar to a newer one, i think the new one have bluetooth in the mylink radio now. |

I already have (on the way)
GPS/XM CBL KIT 13581173 ONSTAR/CELLULAR CBL KIT 13581174 Antenna 22739134 splitter 20960972 Some of the parts i still need are Faceplate to radio harness? Radio USB cable? Console Harness? which i will get from Gen5diy I think i will have everything but I think my old onstar already has bluetooth the new onstar module 22903686 would remove it. I am hoping i can get onstar to get the new module working maybe with the onstar app. 2010's don't have onstar app support, i think the 2011's have it working. also this would be a cleaner setup instead of 2 Bluetooth's in the car. will the new splitter/ant work with the old radio system. I am just try to see if i can put the new ant in and test it before putting(getting) in the nav unit. |

I think Gen5DIY used their 2010 onstar box with the splitter and new antenna. Since I haven't seen install pics, not sure how they plugged in everything. |

Probably we don't need swap the antenna if the onstar box 2010 works with mylink and then we just have to connect the GPS coax to the splitter. I will try the next opportunity or somebody else can try. We can save a lot work and some bucks

I was thinking that the supply voltages on the coax would necessitate the splitter

the Onstar module supplies 5V through the coax cable to power the internal antenna amplifier throuh the signal splitter. the radio supplies 5 V through the center conductor of the coax cable to power the splitter

My additional thought is that the splitter Separates onstar and GPS to separate connectors. Not just splitting both to two feeds. So without the splitter, the onstar and gps antenna would go to the head unit and there would not be a connector for the OnStar box gps feed.... Unless i butchered the routing in my head, lol

The "universal coax" cables that are used to connect to and from the spllitter - are these obtained from the two coax kits (13581173, 13581174)? And are both kits needed - there seems to be a lot of cables in each kit and only three are necessary, one input to the splitter and two output.
