I looked at the Mustang and Challenger as well as the Camaro while I was shopping for a new car.

The Challenger R/T I test drove was much cheaper than the Camaro I ended up with. The sales manager kept calling and emailing me dropping the price even more but when I wrote down a list of my likes of each car over the others, the only thing on the Challenger list was "easier to get into and out of." (Mustang pro was "more customization").
All said and done, I spent $12,000 more than the Challenger and $4,000 more than the Mustang on my 2SS/RS but I got the Dusk Special Edition so that did drive the price higher.
When it comes down to it, I figure the extra you spend on various options or whatnot is worth less than regretting not getting something you want.

By the way, as for the comments about height, I'm 6'04" and 360lbs and I'm super comfortable and my head only rubs when I set the seat to race.

2SS all the way its going to cost you though.. a fully loaded 2SS RS will be about 40 grand. The 1SS will be MUCH cheaper but wont have..
High Intensity Discharge lights (HIDs)
Halos
Leather heated seats seats
Heads Up Display (HUD)
20" wheels
touch screen navigation head unit (you can still get a touch screen with no Nav in a 2SS and it will save you about 2 grand)

its all worth it though. go for the 2SS i love mine.

He said 2011 up for the SS choice and that is no where near 40k, that can be had for 25-28k, so why would you blow 40k?

That was my choice in the end. And thanks for the model info. I knew the 1/2SS differences, but was nice to find I also had the RS package as well. Now to just convince everyone that my brights are not in fact on.

And 6'3" here. I got in it for a test drive and thought carp, this won't work until I realized the seat lowered. Plenty of leg room... up front at least. And I kinda like the bigger steering wheel.

I usually go that route also(new) but I got mine with 4800k miles on it so, it was new enough and dealer owned for the first 10 months. Nowadays, alot of guys with good mods are turning over there 2010's 2011's with low miles for 25-28k and that seems like a steal...we all know how much those dam mods cost us lol

Im 6'3" as well and I fit comfortable in mine. I've owned Mustangs the last 14 years and when I drove the Camaro SS, I was hooked! The car handles extremely well for being stock and that 6.2 liter under the hood just begs for more! Im really liking my car and Im sure you will like yours too if you decide to purchase one. I picked up mine June 2013 for $31K. Its a 2011 SS/RS with only 13,500 miles at purchase in pristine condition! Im sure you will find one to suit your needs.

This is my 1st Camaro purchase and I really am impressed with the car. I've always been a Mustang fan but the new Camaro is a sure winner in my book.

My first thought that came to mind go take out a SRT8 charger since you love the charger. Its a totally different animal compared to that SXT you have.

actually if you research the srt 8 challenger has come out with a bare bones edition that is much cheaper than they used to be as they had a real small market share for the upper level v-8. Though dollar for dollar you will not find a better deal with more options than the Camaro, and cannot touch the price of a charger srt 8 or 300 srt8 , or etc from dodge for what you can get a fully loaded 2ss for with nice things like HUD things you cannot get in a mustang either like auto dimming lights and mirrors etc...
Anyway go to the factory build sites and compare then to the lots. Challengers are the heaviest of the mustang Camaro and challenger, and of its not a srt8 its the slowest. Stangs and Camaros are a even race even though they have a 300 lb. advantage they are solid axles........... And a IRS is very nice....

I am 6'3" and would have bought a Challenger if I was going to be driving the car every day. I have to lean the seat back quite a bit to keep my head off of the ceiling. I also have the sunroof option.

You could also get a 1SS/RS LS3 a little lighter than the 2SS. Put a cam in it and your talking pure bliss!

I like this idea. Go test drive one of those and an SS Camaro and get a feel for both before deciding. Then you'll know you're making the right decision.

You may have noticed some taller guys say they fit, others say they don't. I think it's down to the individual. I'm not tall, but I'm large, and mine is a DD and I do fine. One thing to consider is the sunroof. If I plan on going to an event where I need a helmet, I will have trouble with head room then because of the sunroof. If you get a model without the sunroof there will be extra head room.

I guess you are a stereo guy more than I. But I've been happy with the factory set up and controls. It never occurred to me to want to swap it. I've got a '12 ZL1. Basically the inside should be set up like a 2012 2SS/RS. The steering wheel controls for the radio are nice, connection of an Android phone for talking or music is no problem, USB flash drive full of music. I'd say go play with one before you get stuck on ripping out the head unit. '13 models started with the my link. Something to think about.

Good luck.
