i'm saying the 14rib rear would take out just about any rear slip you'd get at your level. Roger also used a 10rib front because he was going for like 20psi on a 427 & was using somewhere around a 2.9 front pulley - slip city. yours won't be that ridiculous. i was just saying the 14 on the back would be a decent alternative to cogs

Hmmm......... I wonder if a 14 rear would fit. I know it get's tight back there. I guess it would. The part that's tight is the pulley close the the fuel rail. I'll check it out. That would be nice cause then I could run a 3.6 on front.

Unless I am mistaken, that Lingenfelter 14 rib set-up doesnt come cheap, a rear cog is not that bad . . . just saying . . .

I'd pay more to not hear that broken vacuum cleaner sound.

But not too much more. I'm going to look into it.

Looks like the LSX376 crate engine is just a LS3 with the block and pistons swapped out. Wonder if it has good rods in it?

I thought one of the advantages to buying the LSX (other than it is built for boost) is that you could pretty much spec it out (pistons, rods, cam, etc). Am I mistaken about that?

Hmmm, I swear mine doesnt sound like that at all. Yes it whines, but I have gotten rather fond of it, besides, if I dont want to hear the whine I can always open the cut-outs (hehehehe)

I just got a PM form a shop that it has stock rods. He said for my goals would be enough but he agreed the CR WAY to low for my blower.

You are right but this one was 6k. To have them spec it out will cost much more. I guess they have a ton of these and just want to move them.

Well I'm good there then. haha, I can open mine up too.

I've never heard one in person. Only videos. They don't sound bad in videos from inside the car but outside the car, at least in the videos I've seen, I do not like it at all.

I hear ya. I havent really taken a good outside video. I will have to take one and post it up for you. Good thing about the cog od is I was at a 3.2" front pulley and 10psi, we went to 13psi with the rear cog and increased the front pulley to 3.7"

This is good to hear for sure. I have a 3.6 I can put on it. I so want to run 13 ish psi later when I can afford to blow it up, haha, but for now I'll just run 10 or 11.

TSP? Texas Speed?

I am going to use my heads. Just have them worked and rebuild them once I know what cam I will use.

What I'm going to do when the time comes is run a stock block and crank with good rods and pistons.

That is essentially what I am going to do since I can't find a long block for less than 9k.

It isn't that I can't pay if I had to but I want to be thrifty if I can. If I can't then I cant', but I'm going to try.
