Going to lay out the route over the next few days and get my head around the possibilities. Already looking at spending two days less in Baytown. Probably going to head from Dallas on Wednesday to Midland to visit the CAF museum then stop in Austin to visit the Circuit of the Americas before arriving in Baytown for Friday night. Really only interested in spending one day at the Raceway.

There are so many other things we want to visit in the area or on the way. Haven't quite figured out when we can fit in Houston Space Center yet, but don't want to miss that either.

It's not how far it is but how long you spend there. If we get in Friday evening, spend the day Saturday at the track then head off to New Orleans Sunday...hmmm.

Yes there are many things to see and do that are only 25 min from the track in Baytown, just take hwy 146 south.


There is Space center Houston, check out Kemah, also in Kemah in the light house district there are bars, resarants, wine bars, and lots to do on the boardwalk. Continue on 146 into Gavestion and check out pleasure Peirce, check out the strand in Galveston really cool place to hang out and all kid freindly.

A really cool spot to eat and have drinks in Seabrook is Outriggers its at the opening of the lake Into the bay which is an awesome spot to people watch as well as seeing all the power boats/sail boat's comming and going.

On Nasa rd 1 good places to eat and drink on the water.

My thought was to get to the hotel Wednesday, get settled in
Then we have Wednesday evening and all day Thursday to explore and visit
Friday is an option as well
We have been on a lot of trips together and have a great group of friends
One thing we have learned is that we can all venture off and do things on our own then meet up with the group later
Our trip plan is only a guideline for everyone and is no way a must do for any of us.

Keep the ideas coming ! We appreciate the help and suggestions

Absolutely agree. The plan, for us, is to split off Wednesday and rejoin the group Friday. Makes no sense for us to head for Baytown Wednesday if we want to go to Midland and Austin.
