I wonder if the reason GM will use to justify his dismissal is not the design of the car itself, but perhaps GM has some new top secret way of making the body that could have been revealed in those pictures.

No joke, I'm dead serious...... could the pictures we all looked at reveal any secrets of body and structure welding that could compomise GM if other competitors' engineers study and copy it?

We've heard this car is going to be one tight, solid, well engineered chasis. I'm just saything there might be something in the pose of those robots that an engineer could pickup and take with him to the big H plant in Marysville, Ohio, or the T plant in Lexington, Kentucky.

Like everyone here says, there's no good reason to fire the person over what we all have already seen (and GM themselves have released an official photo of it). A suspension? Sure. Write up? Absolutely. On the spot firing? Too harsh...... that is unless there's something there that's valuable to GM besides the obvious Camaro carcass.

Yeah there's no reasoning with GM security. They don't need to justify anything. Just having a camera phone inside any GM facility would be enough to fire him. (we have the choice of the crappiest free phones, or big ugly obsolete blackberries inside Design) Taking a photo inside the plant is practically automatic dismissal, and posting it on the internet makes me wonder if they'll take further action. Kindof a downer for an exciting thread but it makes you realize what we have to live with every day for the privilege of working on the 'inside'.

Yeah I'd say most of us knew that was gonna happen. I work in a gov't building with the same rules. Although firing is the least of our worries when there's cameras in question.

Would the poster with the name " CAMERO", at least spell the name properly. I can't tell you how many times I've seen this, and drives me nuts everytime. There's no "E" for god sakes.

Also, one of the previous posts mentioned that some of the spy shots may have revealed that GM was using a side ring for the Camaro. FYI, GM has been using this technology for all of their cars since the late 80's. It actually starts out as a laser welded blank that is then stamped into shape. The reason it's laser welded, is because the blank is made up of different thicknesses of sheet metal. They use this technology on their doors also. If you have a GM car, take a look at the bottom of your doors, and You will feel a ridge. What that is , is the weld. The front half of the inner panel is almost twice as thick as the rear. This is for strength.

^It's a joke. He himself had gotten tired of that mispelling and thus registrered with that username as a joke in reference to that.

To get back on topic though, sucks about the guy getting fired especially since it wasn't he who posted the pictures.

Big +1

Where classified data is concerend you can expect federal charges in a closed hearing. Not good. I've seen people loose 19 years of military service for accidentally copying classified data in an unclassified copy machine...

"Fifty years from now, when you're looking back at your life, don't you want to be able to say you had the guts to get in the car?"

I've already been in it !!! It's just like the old Camaro, not enough headroom.

That is contrary to what we've been told by people that we know have actually been in the car. The only thing close to this that I've heard is that the backseat headroom is tight....and that is a big..so what.

I'll choose to believe disciples.

You've seen panels stamped that deep before?
