Pedders ZL1 Sway Bars - Needed/Wanted 27DEC14 Still Searching

*Anyone have any for sale? New? Used? Let me know.

The story

Well I wanted to upgrade my suspension and had everything planned out, so I got a great deal on the Pedders SuperCars so I bought those and then saved up for the rest of it.

Fast forward a few months and then Pedders is in trouble, and the only ZL1 sway bar that will work with the SuperCars is their own set up, so now I can buy all the parts to upgrade the suspension (bushings, FE4 parts, etc) but need this to complete the package.

So if you have any or know of any for sale post or send me a pm.

Thanks for the help!

I found that out in the middle of having the supercars installed.thought we could move the cannisters around but no go with the pfadt bars I had. Luckly my shop out here had a set in stock.

Good luck, Call rob at Wretched, Bruce at Raymonds or Tyler at JDP, maybe they can help

Just a thought....how about using stock GM ZL-1 sways. end-links, and lower control arms,etc..???....How different could Pedders ZL-1 stuff actually be?

Good idea. Only reason the pfadt zl1 bars didnt work was the shape of the arm at the end link on the rear bar only.I would think the supercars would be o.k. with stock G.M. bars, and you can move the rear cannisters a little but they do have to stay mounted at the back of the coilover

GM might be an option just wanted to go aftermarket since tends to be stronger/thicker bars. Not sure how the OEM ZL bar is though.

And is it only the rear ZL bar that didn't work? Since if that's the case might be able to run a Pfadt front ZL sway and then a GM ZL rear if it fits.

Thoughts?

Still looking for a pedders set since those I know fit lol

The stock ZL1 bars are 25mm front and 28mm rear.

The Pedders bars are 27mm front and 32mm rear.

Another good option is the stock 1LE front bar - 27mm and the Pedders 32mm Rear Bar.

I know of one supplier that still has Pedders parts in stock. I will not post here. If you want to know PM me.

yes only the rear bar didnt work. The swing arm angled in more toward the cannister area. The pedders bar , and maybe the stock bar also, from the link went straight back, then angled in toward the mount bracket

Is Pedders the only company building a 32mm rear bar? I don't have to fit the supercars coilovers so a different brand would work if out there.

I had and like the Pfadt ZL1 spec bar set. 31-32mm hollow front rear but 3 holes each to adjust. They worked great

I should still be able to get a couple of 32mm FE4 rear Pedders bars,
Hotchkis also makes a 32mm FE4 bar that's hollow,
and Pfadt makes one that is around there size wise.
but other than that i don't believe anyone else does.

There are other bars close to or equivalent of the Pedders rear bar, but I am not sure of fitment with the supercar coilovers. The Pfadt ZL Spec sway bars are usually my #1 choice, but they won't work with supercars.

Hopefully Rob can hook you up with a Pedders rear bar and then you could pick up a stock 1LE front bar. That would be the best option at this point for those with super cars IMO. Of course this setup would be more tailored to a square setup. If you plan on running staggered, the ZL1 front bar may be a better choice.

Best regards,

Tyler
