Daughters Cruze did it again. Back to the dealer again next week to try something else.

Heard from the dealership, they have been great. They are replacing the radio as they were advised that there is an issue with one of the circuit boards. Should get it back today.

4* above zero this morning, went out started the car, and the radio works. Replacement seems to have corrected the issue.

Thanks to everyone who responded to this thread I started. Regarding my 2011 (without MyLink) waiting for the radio to stop working again and hope it stops at a time when I can swing by my dealership which is very close to my home so dealership can document.

Don't intend to address repairs until April when my other car comes out of winter storage as I do not want to have to rent a car while the Camaro is in the shop.

Ironically I just found this thread, my 2011 2LTRS has been doing this since I bought it last January 2nd 2014 when it's really cold. Into the local dealer twice and they thought it was a bad ground and wrapped the antenna wire in foil for some reason... Seemed to get better, but the weather was warming up as well... Now it is doing it again. No FM or AM sound, but Cd and Xm work. I will contact one of these service reps in this thread and see if they can help me get the dealer to fix it. My warranty will be gone in a month...

Update: Never took my 2011 to check out the radio issue because when weather warmed up radio worked fine. Unless I can take the car in when the radio is not working service is just going to be guessing how to fix the issue and I will have the expense to fix the issue plus paying for a rental car. Another winter, waiting for the radio to stop working any day now.

Yesterday auto sat in the parking lot at work for about 5 hours and air temp. about '0' F all day. Started, no radio. Drove about 10 mins. & stopped at a store. 30 mins. later started, no radio. Drove another 5 min.s to get gas. After fill-up, started...and radio worked. Strange this only happens in extremely cold weather and never in warm weather, never when the car is in motion.

Please do me a big favor. When it is replaced / repaired could you post a detailed description as to what they found was the cause of the radio not working. This info would be a great help to me when I take my 2011 2LT in for service.

Mine is out of warranty because I took delivery Aug. 2010 (now pushing close to all of 7,400 miles, LOL). Such current low mileage and hate to think how much this is going to cost me out-of-pocket. Issue only started last winter when the car had less then 6,000 miles.

With the above information from you, next time the radio goes out on my car and I can stop at the dealership when it is none functional, I will at least be able to give them some information on what is causing the problem. If my dealership can document it this winter, then in the spring (April here in Canada) I can take it in for service after I get my other car out of winter storage so I don't have the added expense of a rental.

This is so odd that only the radio is affected, only hit-or-miss, only during extremely cold temp's below freezing, only when I start the auto and never when I am driving the auto, yet the CD player, speakers, digital audio displays all work when the radio station broadcast simply has no sound. And yes a little frustrated that my 2011, bought new, should be experiencing these radio broadcast issues (or lack of radio station broadcasts) after so few miles.

Just a guess, perhaps this issue has gone under reported as perhaps on this Board, most people living in extreme cold winter climates do not use their Camaro's as daily drivers winter months.

The answer is going to be: found radio not working, replaced radio.

Yes, I am afraid they have no real idea what exactly is happening other than what others have stated above. It has to be a glitch in the circuit board in the radio or built in amp. Cold temps shortens wiring gaps and loses connection... Poor assembly tolerances maybe...and fear the new one may be no better....

'Baldman' are you just bored and wasting everyone's time posting useless comments on threads regarding issues you know nothing about?

Others on this thread experiencing real problems with their auto radios, perhaps expensive problems if their Gen 5 Camaro's out of warranty. Try reading the entire thread before you post useless comments. I am the OP, and stated my concern taking my auto back to the dealership and either getting a report back "nothing found" or pay for a fix that did not fix the issue like wrapping the antenna wire in foil for some reason.

If you have nothing constructive to add to this thread, please stay off this thread.

I meant to say cold temps shrink wiring and metals, creating gaps in connections. If that is actually the case, it all depends in how tight the connections are made during assembly. Hope to God I get a good one. If I have to live with it only doing it occasionally when below zero, I will... I am not paying to replace it if it happens again when out off warranty.
