I actually like the stock auto shifter. :( I don't see why people don't like it. I guess i just don't like the vinyl/leather wrap because it doesn't look as "clean". To each his own though, it doesn't look bad.

I always thought people did ths mod so others might think thier car is a manual..... Cause it's embarrassing to be caught driving an automatic. I dunno.. Just something I heard.

Exactly- each person has their own liking. I'm not sure why they wouldn't put the leather boot on autos like their older brother Stringray. To me it looks cleaner and my photos don't justify the fine leather it is.

Actually I always thought the redundant gear indicator on the console was never needed because of the indicator in the DIC, I can never remember even looking at the console to see which gear I have selected.

True, waste of indicators on the shifter bezel. I always look at the HUD or dash indicator. However- I'm mostly all the way forward in park or all the way back in Manual mode.

I like it for you great job. I have an auto but I put the Hurst Dual lighted mode cover in mine. But not the Hurst shifter. You should look into the leather boot for the emergency brake handle.

I was going to do that, but when the cheapest I could find the cover was $130 I decided to do this instead. If someone wanted to fool someone into thinking its a manual you would need to swap out the trim plate for a manual one with the shift pattern on it and add a dummy clutch pedal.
